Grand Cru is a speciality beer carefully crafted by Belgium’s St Feuillien Brewery. This extra-blond amber nectar masterpiece undergoes refermentation in the bottle, resulting in a beer endowed with unforgettable character. The secret lies in the unique combination of the most noble hops and the finest aromatic ingredients. Grand Cru differs from other beers in the range by its absence of spices. Its full, white head is light and frothy, and when poured it creates a subtle lace effect. The very pale colour of Grand Cru lends clarity and brilliance to its body.
Grand Cru’s delicate nose is a veritable cascade of hoppy aromas with hints of fruitiness coupled with subtlety and sheer richness.
When savoured, the first sip is light and intriguing. The next impression is one of a slight bitterness full of captivating nuances. When it hits the palate, Grand Cru creates a lingering moment of hoppiness, rounded off by an intense yet pleasant bitterness.

Bottle from Yamaichi. Great sweet, estery aroma, with a hint of funk. Slight haze, lemon jelly color, and a big fluffy white head with good lacing. Nice fruity sweetness / go balance in mid / flavors lingering in finish. Crisp, a little astringent, and edging on a dry character. Damn good. Hits all the notes and ends balanced just right. Some pleasant alc. warmth takes over in the finish. Only knock against it is that the flavors are less full than I’d like from a beer in this style.

UPDATED: JUL 12, 2014 Clear white golden beer with huge cloudy white head. Pouring in the yeast makes it opaque. Aroma has Belgian yeast, slight tartness, crisp citrus, toffee sweetness and pale maltiness. Pouring in the yeast tames down the aromas. Flavor is yeasty, honeyish sweet, citrusy crisp, tart and bitter. Palate is thick with high carbonation and some bitterness. Finishes with less than medium bitterness and alcohol. Aftertaste has some subtle sweet fruitiness. Pouring in the yeast tames the alcohol and adds fruity sweetness. The alcohol disturbs a bit, but a pretty good Belgian strong pale ale, nothing special.

UPDATED: MAY 20, 2014 Light transparent hay colour with quiet carbonation and a frothy head. Hoppy smell with some white pepper and salt. Bready yeasty. Taste is fruity bready with subtle alcoholic warmth and some hoppiness. Some citrics and a nice watery finish. Silky. Nice to drink but not terribly special.

Pour is murky light golden with a terrific fine bubbled one finger white head in this glass ; its sticky, it retains well - its what you expect. The nose is fruit esters, baked bread, caramel malt, and grassy hops. It came across more like a tripel initially ; but the malt presence is , I suppose, more robust. Anyway - its heavy on the hay and grassy hop notes, moving to more caramel and sweet bread, a light spicing, fruit esters are present; this is quite a belgian, but i has a slight off putting note and a touch of bitter near the finish ; I enjoyed it, but It didnt feel perfect to me.

Bottle at home. Pours pale golden with sizable, finely bubbled head and lacing. Aroma is all Belgian - fruity esters and unmistakable yeast profile. Taste is fruity - booze is well masked. Dry finish.
