Grand Cru is a speciality beer carefully crafted by Belgium’s St Feuillien Brewery. This extra-blond amber nectar masterpiece undergoes refermentation in the bottle, resulting in a beer endowed with unforgettable character. The secret lies in the unique combination of the most noble hops and the finest aromatic ingredients. Grand Cru differs from other beers in the range by its absence of spices. Its full, white head is light and frothy, and when poured it creates a subtle lace effect. The very pale colour of Grand Cru lends clarity and brilliance to its body.
Grand Cru’s delicate nose is a veritable cascade of hoppy aromas with hints of fruitiness coupled with subtlety and sheer richness.
When savoured, the first sip is light and intriguing. The next impression is one of a slight bitterness full of captivating nuances. When it hits the palate, Grand Cru creates a lingering moment of hoppiness, rounded off by an intense yet pleasant bitterness.

Foam is coarse and very thick. The aroma is dominated by soft fruits and a little yeast. The taste is most influenced by summer berries as little currants and raspberries. Light notes of orange appears too. The alcohol can be felt little in the aftertaste as a slight tingling on the tongue. Hop bitterness is a little more nuanced in this triple than one might expect. It is delicate.

A light, glowing blonde colour, with a massive white head that does a good job of settling itself down. Aromas are of metallic yeast, and some white fruits. Creamy mouthfeel. Very yeasty on the tongue. Nothing pronounced. Maybe a tad grassy. I find this to be a very forgettable beer that I would not re-purchase after having tried two bottles on separate occasions.

Bigboy bottle at the airport. Duty-free poured in to plastic cups whilst watching ’Buried’ on the Kindle fire. A farewell beer waiting on the plane to Prague. Pours hazy Golden Yellow with a durable White head. Fruity aroma with a bit of doughy spice character. A touch of citrus and plenty of dry peppery yeast notes. Nice enough. Given the circumstances.
