COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Grand Cru is a speciality beer carefully crafted by Belgium’s St Feuillien Brewery. This extra-blond amber nectar masterpiece undergoes refermentation in the bottle, resulting in a beer endowed with unforgettable character. The secret lies in the unique combination of the most noble hops and the finest aromatic ingredients. Grand Cru differs from other beers in the range by its absence of spices. Its full, white head is light and frothy, and when poured it creates a subtle lace effect. The very pale colour of Grand Cru lends clarity and brilliance to its body.
Grand Cru’s delicate nose is a veritable cascade of hoppy aromas with hints of fruitiness coupled with subtlety and sheer richness.
When savoured, the first sip is light and intriguing. The next impression is one of a slight bitterness full of captivating nuances. When it hits the palate, Grand Cru creates a lingering moment of hoppiness, rounded off by an intense yet pleasant bitterness.

Sweet aroma. Golden with rich white head, sparkling. Well balanced sweetness - soautness - bitterness exactly on the tongue middle. Some mild sweet-bitter aftertaste on the root,

12 ounce bottle from The Beer Trappe. Too much carbonation. But when it settles, flavor is really nice blend of yeast, apple, sweet, light hops. Really good.

Bottle 33cl. Hazy yellow with a small white top that fades. Aroma is good, somewhat sour. Taste has sourness but bitterness too. Lots of Co2 on the tongue. Not the usual stuff. Like it.

75cl bottle served in a De Dolle glass. Pours a straw colour with a nice (if somewhat short lived) head. Taste is extremely clean with a nice bitterness from the hops. Light mouthfeel and close to a tripel but notably better than their former effort. ABV is well hidden and feels like you could drink it for as long as the sun is out...

Bottle. Aroma is very powerful, I can smell the beer from across the table after uncapping the bottle. Pours a slightly cloudy golden, slightly orange color. Very, very strong smell of yeast that resembles chorizo sausage mixed with cheese. Compared to other beers, it is like the limited 2014 edition of Straffe Hendrik, but more refined. When poured into a glass, the smell moves towards citrus (predominantly lime), pine and cheese. Great job. First taste is copper (overwhelmingly!). With subsequent sips, the beer moves towards its true sour nature. It even turns a little salty. I somehow get the taste of bbq-ed meats (without the smokey flavor). All the individual tastes are a little bit too much up the sour palate for me. The palate turns sweet 3/4 of the way (flowers?), but bitter in the after taste. This promised to be a great beer from the aroma, but turned out to be a little disappointing.

Bouteille. Robe blonde pale coiffée d’une belle mousse blanche. Nez fruité de levure et d’épices. En bouche, on retrouve la poire, le malt blond, le poivre et le clou de girofle emmenés par une belle amertume. Une jolie belge.
