COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Grand Cru is a speciality beer carefully crafted by Belgium’s St Feuillien Brewery. This extra-blond amber nectar masterpiece undergoes refermentation in the bottle, resulting in a beer endowed with unforgettable character. The secret lies in the unique combination of the most noble hops and the finest aromatic ingredients. Grand Cru differs from other beers in the range by its absence of spices. Its full, white head is light and frothy, and when poured it creates a subtle lace effect. The very pale colour of Grand Cru lends clarity and brilliance to its body.
Grand Cru’s delicate nose is a veritable cascade of hoppy aromas with hints of fruitiness coupled with subtlety and sheer richness.
When savoured, the first sip is light and intriguing. The next impression is one of a slight bitterness full of captivating nuances. When it hits the palate, Grand Cru creates a lingering moment of hoppiness, rounded off by an intense yet pleasant bitterness.

Bottle sample at a tasting in our place. Thanks beerandbeyond. Hazy pale amber, white head. A little sour in the nose, delicate vinegar. Tastes somewhat sour, light acidic and bleh in general. Medium body, soft carbonation. Ugh.

Pours a slightly hazy gold with a really nice white head. Aroma is yeast, fruit, and a bit of spice. Taste is yeasty and spicy with hint of banana, and a bit of alcohol. Prickly carbonation. Pretty good.

Bottle sample at a tasting at kerenmk’s place. Thanks beerandbeyond. Clear deep golden. Fruity, yeasty and alcoholic aroma. Sweetish flavor, fruity and yeasty, a bit spicy, with a honey hint and an alcoholic finish. Medium-bodied.

Pours a soft straw yellow with a lively and effervescent carbonation. A rocky and billowing white head. Nose is grassy with some bready notes, a light candy-like quality with some floral notes. Very nice flavor, nice balance of sweet and fruity esters with some floral notes and a candy-ish character. Some spicy phenolics and zesty qualities. Light to medium body with some boozy alcohol coming through and a prickly carbonation. I enjoyed this one.

Sweet alcohol aroma. Thick head. Spicy flavour, shame about the metallic aftertaste.

Bottle: Poured a clear deep golden color ale with a nice pure white foamy head with good retention and some excellent lacing. Aroma consists of sweet malt with some floral dry hops with light alcohol warming notes. Taste is also a mix of warming alcohol notes with some sweet malt with surprisingly dominant dry and floral hops notes. Body is about average with good carbonation. Not bad overall though maybe a tad too much sugar and alcohol coming through.
