Grand Cru is a speciality beer carefully crafted by Belgium’s St Feuillien Brewery. This extra-blond amber nectar masterpiece undergoes refermentation in the bottle, resulting in a beer endowed with unforgettable character. The secret lies in the unique combination of the most noble hops and the finest aromatic ingredients. Grand Cru differs from other beers in the range by its absence of spices. Its full, white head is light and frothy, and when poured it creates a subtle lace effect. The very pale colour of Grand Cru lends clarity and brilliance to its body.
Grand Cru’s delicate nose is a veritable cascade of hoppy aromas with hints of fruitiness coupled with subtlety and sheer richness.
When savoured, the first sip is light and intriguing. The next impression is one of a slight bitterness full of captivating nuances. When it hits the palate, Grand Cru creates a lingering moment of hoppiness, rounded off by an intense yet pleasant bitterness.

330 mL bottle. Pours a hazy pale golden with a large white head. Smells of sweet apple, sugary candy, other fruits, slightly tart. Flavors of apple and pale malt together with candy sugar, fairly dry. Simple, but pretty nice.

Sampled @Grünerløkka mat- og mikroølfestval 2012. A fully diminishing blond head, over a straw colored body with good clarity. Fresh Belgo-yeasty aroma. Notes of citrus zest and something earthy and herbal. Surprisingliy light-bodied. Dry, with a fresh acidic fruit flavor. Hint of spices. Earthy and grassy bitterness underneath. Alcohol well masked. A rock solid Belgian Strong. [25.08.12]

Clear gold, fluffy head. Rich, very Belgian. Fruit, dryness bordering on the sour. Elegant.

Good aspect, cloudy but brilliant, with a yellowish golden colour and a perfect white head, with a reasonable marked lace. In mouth, nuts, pine and flowers hops well balanced to biscuit and honey malts. The drawback is that the aromas are slightly faint and weak, and a little bit confused. Perfect development. Very good beer.

330 ml bottle. Practically clear, pale, golden body with a big foamy white head. Mild and slightly spicy aroma, it actually feels like white sugar in the nose. Flavor is sweet, slightly fruity, some spices and white sugar with a faint hint of alcohol. Not much bitterness makes this rather one dimensional sweet, strong, pale Belgium ale. Drinkable, but nothing outstanding and to sticky after a while.

Bottle@Home. Boring and rather yeasty in both aroma and flavour. Bringing a new beer to the market as a brewer should add something to that market. Not just another boring strong blond Belgian ale...

(Rating #4330)

Some folks are suckers for fancied labels, excessive carbonation, and high alcohol. Even me, sometimes. Not today. This is a sweet and boozy cocktail in church clothes. Pale gold color with a reverse cascade of sparkles coming from one of those etchings in the impressive glassware. (Danger: concepts at work.) Smells sweet and indistinct. Tastes sweet and only faintly bitter. Warming, verging on hot. Dull and useless and without much place in my life. On the upside, I am not getting smashed in the face with coriander. And if I needed to get some fancied lady into bed, I might use this. Otherwise, scroll past.

Helder bier met een indrukwekkend schuim. Zoetige en verfijnde bloemige hoptonen. Lange aangename nasmaak. Keurig bier.

Poured from an 11.2 ounce bottle into a tulip glass. Pours a translucent gold with a white froth of head. The aroma is sweet, effervescent fruits and subtle grass. Taste is sweet with a drying finish. Not remarkable, but a nice sipper.
