COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Grand Cru is a speciality beer carefully crafted by Belgium’s St Feuillien Brewery. This extra-blond amber nectar masterpiece undergoes refermentation in the bottle, resulting in a beer endowed with unforgettable character. The secret lies in the unique combination of the most noble hops and the finest aromatic ingredients. Grand Cru differs from other beers in the range by its absence of spices. Its full, white head is light and frothy, and when poured it creates a subtle lace effect. The very pale colour of Grand Cru lends clarity and brilliance to its body.
Grand Cru’s delicate nose is a veritable cascade of hoppy aromas with hints of fruitiness coupled with subtlety and sheer richness.
When savoured, the first sip is light and intriguing. The next impression is one of a slight bitterness full of captivating nuances. When it hits the palate, Grand Cru creates a lingering moment of hoppiness, rounded off by an intense yet pleasant bitterness.

Bottle at Delirium Café Brussels. Rather clear gold, high head. Aroma is pilsner malt, citrus, fruit. Flavor is sweet and yeasty, spicy, with grass and oranges. Too sweet and cloying, though the peppery finish helps a little. This is all bottle and glass.

3/08/2011 33cl bottle blind tasting @ Klaas’ place (2011-365) Thanks to Satch for sharing the bottle!

Little cloudy yellow beer, aery white head, unstable, bit adhesive. Aroma: citric, lemon candy, candi sugar, touch of dairy, some yeast. Reminds of the St. Feuillien blonde, so probably the yeast is an important part of the aroma. MF: ok carbon, medium to full body. Taste: very lemony, even artificially lemon flavour, but not too bad. A bit sweet and again that dairy touch.

(Bottle, 0.33 l, at Gastropub Tuulensuu, 20110719) The beer poured clear and golden. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had fruitiness, honey and sweetness. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, yeast, sweetness, hops, grain, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was fruity and bitter. A nice tripel despite what the style says.

Blonde with a dense thick white head, aroma has oranges, citrus, coriander. Taste has a nice bitterness, somewhat hoppy and dry, finish also dry. Alcohol shows a little up at the end,
