COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Grand Cru is a speciality beer carefully crafted by Belgium’s St Feuillien Brewery. This extra-blond amber nectar masterpiece undergoes refermentation in the bottle, resulting in a beer endowed with unforgettable character. The secret lies in the unique combination of the most noble hops and the finest aromatic ingredients. Grand Cru differs from other beers in the range by its absence of spices. Its full, white head is light and frothy, and when poured it creates a subtle lace effect. The very pale colour of Grand Cru lends clarity and brilliance to its body.
Grand Cru’s delicate nose is a veritable cascade of hoppy aromas with hints of fruitiness coupled with subtlety and sheer richness.
When savoured, the first sip is light and intriguing. The next impression is one of a slight bitterness full of captivating nuances. When it hits the palate, Grand Cru creates a lingering moment of hoppiness, rounded off by an intense yet pleasant bitterness.

Big white coarseish lasting head. Slightly hazy yellow body. Tropical fruit aroma with earthy herbal resiny notes. Dry-sweet herbal banana taste with chalky earthy honey notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, mealy mouthfeel. Dryish fruity earthy taste with herbal grassy notes. Nice, drinkable, interesting, and certainly has character. (0.33l bottle, wine monopoly, web order.)

Nijstrom (272) - Turku, FINLAND - SEP 13, 2012
0.33 l bottle from Alko, Finland. Pours hazy yellow/golden with a white, frothy head with fast retention. The nose is malty, with notes of yeast, wheat, fruit, spices and alcohol. The taste is similar to the aroma; the beer is malty with light sweetness, light bitterness, and with notes of yeast, wheat, fruit, spices and alcohol. The body is medium with lively carbonation. The finish is somewhat bitter and fruity. It’s a quite nice beer even though the alcohol taste is coming thourgh a bit too much.

Grassy hop aromas, hazy blonde golden with a good head. Some sweetness on the taste but alchohol too.

mile (3638) - Helsinki, FINLAND - SEP 5, 2012
Bottle. Light golden, hazy, average to large and mostly diminishing head. Moderate, malty - some wheat and lightly sweetish aroma, some fruitiness and light spiciness (coriander, light pepper) and citrus, light yeast and alcohol. Body is medium, malty - some wheat and lightly sweetish flavor, light caramel and some fruitiness with light spiciness, faint citrus and light alcohol. Finish is average, malty - lightly wheaty and sweetish, faint caramel and fruitiness, some sharp spiciness and alcohol. One-dimensional sweetish strong ale - too much alcohol in the finish. Although the label says Grand Cru there is really nothing “Grand” here.
