COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Grand Cru is a speciality beer carefully crafted by Belgium’s St Feuillien Brewery. This extra-blond amber nectar masterpiece undergoes refermentation in the bottle, resulting in a beer endowed with unforgettable character. The secret lies in the unique combination of the most noble hops and the finest aromatic ingredients. Grand Cru differs from other beers in the range by its absence of spices. Its full, white head is light and frothy, and when poured it creates a subtle lace effect. The very pale colour of Grand Cru lends clarity and brilliance to its body.
Grand Cru’s delicate nose is a veritable cascade of hoppy aromas with hints of fruitiness coupled with subtlety and sheer richness.
When savoured, the first sip is light and intriguing. The next impression is one of a slight bitterness full of captivating nuances. When it hits the palate, Grand Cru creates a lingering moment of hoppiness, rounded off by an intense yet pleasant bitterness.

pours clear bright yellow with a ncie white cap, some retention and lacing. noble hops - lots, floral and skunky saaz, pale blond candi and booze - this mix suggested bretts at first. light buttery phenols, some spices, boozy - kind of apricot or mirabelle eau-de-vie. moderate carbonation, medium body - oily, silky, boozy short but assertive grassy-spicy finish. o-k non spiced belgian brew. still much prefer their spiced ones..

Pours cloudy amber gold with off-white head,small-medium that reduces quickly but leaves persistent, attractive skim and lacing. Nose is lager-like, yeasty but clean with hop notes. Palate is bread and honey balanced by hop bitterness. Interesting to see the references to spices here, since the brewery makes the point that this is deliberately not spiced. Banana notes come through with aeration, but even more than flavor, the pronounced impression is creaminess. The mild sweetness followed by mild bitterness resembles a second-rate chardonnay, but the smooth, filling texture takes this to a better place. This is an excellent example of the traditional use of hops to enliven what otherwise could be an overly sweet beverage. They make an excellent counterpoint without brutalizing the palate;

Golden and clear as day with a head that dissipates rather quickly. Aroma is dried fruit. Taste is quite foresty, with flowers and pine needles. Well-hopped.

Butelka, warka do 08/02/2016.

33 cl. bottle @ home. Very blond, almost white beer. First sip starts light and sparkling, followed by a hoppy, bitter aftertaste.

Bottle @ Örebro Ölcafe: Dry in the mouthfeel almost like drinking champagne. The taste is various dried fruits, a little yeasty, some spicy sensation and a mild bitter finish. Interesting to try, but not really my fave style.

Served too cold, killing all aroma. Pale yellow, white lacing foam head. Weak barley aroma, light fruity. Good taste, nice beer. Light, cripsy. Short aftertaste. (Velp 201502)

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy beer with a big white head on top. Aroma is very yeasty, white fruits, some breadyness to it and some vegetables or planty stuff in the back. Flavor is very sweet, yeasty and malty with a touch of booze and white fruit. Starts off very sweet and fruity, ends fairly bitter. Very well carbonated and fizzy mouthfeel. This is actually a not so standard Belgian Strong Ale for a change, quite ok to be fair!
