A summer seasonal Wit beer from the St. Feuillien brewery. La Blanche from St-Feuillien reflects a unique combination of white beer and triple characteristics, thirst-quenching, aroma, high density and bitterness. The colour is slightly blonde with an opaque, cloudy appearance. Its head is creamy, white and compact. It has a distinctive aroma of wheat beer with a delicate note of orange peel. The body shows a contrasted blend of light bitterness which become more and more intense and the wheat beer thirst-quenching characteristic. This beer has an impressive lingering taste.

Bright yellow with a small white ring head. Soapy lace. Very fruity aroma, tangerine and lemon. Good bite. Fizzy, but refreshing palate. A damn juicy fruity sweet beer.

On tap at Asheville Growler, this pours hazy straw into the glass, with a fully reduced head that leaves no lacing. The nose is of clove and licorice. Flavors are similar, with lots of clove, licorice, cracked wheat, citrus peel/zest, and finishes with peel and spices. The dry palate is active and thirst-quenching, yet complex and deep. Great Belgian Wit here.

Poured at Town Hall Tap. Refreshing golden color run through an unfiltered witbier. Citrus aroma and an instant image of summer with each sip. Slight sweetness, little hops, kind off falls of the table a bit at the end. Overall, a good option if other Belgians not available.

Draft. Poured hazy amber orange color with an average frothy white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate yeast, spice and sweet citrus aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium sweet flavor with a medium sweet spice finish of moderate duration. My expectations where met.

UPDATED: JAN 1, 2014 Tap at Tilia. Hazy yellow pour with a white head. Wheat, ripened banana (maybe banana bread), and just a hint of spice. Decent, not great.

10oz snifter at Neons for 8 dollars. Completely hazy yellow orange color. Minimal white head. Couple loose bits of lace. Zesty, orange peel aroma, some Belgian yeast. Light spice. Some pineapple. goodbanana. a more full body than is normal for the style, with a longer, yeastier, zestier aftertaste. Medium-plus body, lighter, more crisp carbonation, more dry finish. More sweet taste, lighter zest. A bit too sugary sweet for me. Good, Belgian-tasting, Belgian white. Nothing about it makes it worth 8 bucks a snifter, though. Typical otr tax.

Aroma is fruit forward with hints of honey. Pours a straw yellow with a mostly diminishing white head and no lacing. Taste is apple/pear, grain with a touch of honey in the finish. Mouthfeel is light with medium carbonation. Overall, would like to try this vegan food. Nice and crisp.

Draught at TJ’s: Aroma of wheat, coriander, clove, orange, and grain. Poured yellow/straw in color with a large, creamy, dense, fluffy, white head that greatly diminished but lasted throughout. Very hazy. Flavor is light to medium sweet. Tastes of wheat, coriander, spices, and grain. Light body. Average texture. Average carbonation. Wheat, spice, grain finish.
