St-Feuillien’s Saison is what the Belgians call a beer of the terroir, a traditional farmhouse ale with all the rich savour of the fertile land of southern Belgium. Saison, a warm golden blonde beer, is a top-fermented classique. Thanks to secondary fermentation in the bottle, Saison has an unmistakable flavour full of rich nuances and a slight tang.Judge for yourself. 750s and 20L kegs only. In first instance, for export to the USA only.

Bottle from Alko. Amber color, full white head. Bitter taste with lots of citrus, floral aroma, grass and hops. Progressive finish with sourness. Excellent saison.

Maybe it was too cold from the tap, maybe Saisons just aren’t my thing. Poured a pale, golden colour with a thick white head. Didn’t get much in the aroma, slight earthy smell. Taste was lightly hopped, again, slight earthiness, quite lightly bodied. Again, maybe I had it too cold, but not something I’d rush to try again.

Pours a slightly hazy vivid orange copper with a big ole frothy head that floats nicely throughout the beers life when it does slide it laces very nicely down the glass. Aromas are very tempting with hints of herbal spice, orange rind and fresh cut grass. On the palate it pops with tangy grapefruit, funky grass, lime flavors balanced on the back end by some earthy wood to round out the finish.

330 ml bottle. Finland.
Cloudy orange colour with quickly diminishing big frothy off-white head. Belgian yeast, some hops, citrus and earthy notes in aroma. Flavour is earth, citrus, mild hops and yeast. Alcohol is also present. Not that much Saison touch in flavour.

Aroma is earthy, yeasty, some bread, a slight banana note, creamy, herbs and a small hint of aniseed. It’s subtle but their all there! Mouthfeel is super soft and smooth. Taste is biscuit, clove, yeast, buttery and complex. Bloody lovely!

Nice puffy white head that lingres for throughout session. Cloudy golden amber in appearance. Nice amount of carbonation that keeps the beverage with the aid of a nice amount of hops crisp and fresh. Nice balance of flavors come through in the beer none of which are to over powering. Easily drinkable after a long day in the sun.

(750 ml (2012) from Global Beverage) Pours hazy light amber-gold with a tall, puffy off-white head. Understated aroma of bread, caramel, yeast, fruit. Mouthfeel smooth, a bit light and airy. Flavor of caramel, light yeast, light spiciness in finish. A decent but fairly unexciting saison.

TBone (12544) - Pori, FINLAND - JUN 9, 2012
Bottled 330ml (Alko, BB 01/2014)
Hazy yellow-orange color, good white head. Spicey leather, coriander (hello EBCU!) aroma. Light to medium-bodied. Fruity, spicey, light alcohol. Lime peels. Lingering spicey-bitterness in the aftertaste. For me this tastes more like "ordinary" Belgian ale than Saison.
