COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
St-Feuillien’s Saison is what the Belgians call a beer of the terroir, a traditional farmhouse ale with all the rich savour of the fertile land of southern Belgium. Saison, a warm golden blonde beer, is a top-fermented classique. Thanks to secondary fermentation in the bottle, Saison has an unmistakable flavour full of rich nuances and a slight tang.Judge for yourself. 750s and 20L kegs only. In first instance, for export to the USA only.

Cloudy orange color, sweet malty taste, thin-to-no head. Belgian fruity yeast aroma, but I expect more spicy than fruity yeast.

09-NOV-2012, From Superbest, @Ulkløbben Meeting, @my place. Golden with huge almost white head. Yeasty aroma. Taste is malt, yeast, spice, herbs, lemon, fruit. Some sweetness. Bordering on a tripel? Nice surprise.

Bottle at home. Has a slightly hazy light orange colour with a frothy off-white medium head. Nice aroma of herbs, hops, hay, mango, belgium yeast and some spicy pepper. Malty and herbal flavours of hay and hops at first, and then a nice mellow finish with citrus. The mouthfeel is soft, and a light to medium bitterness. A very compact and nice saison. Incredible well balanced.

Cloudy apple juice colour, thin head. Sharp lemon, sour apple, banana, yeast and spice on the nose. Taste is citric, floral, spicy. The bitter finish is hoppy and tart. Delicate mouthfeel. Balanced.

750ml bottle $10 I believe. Orange color, looks nice in the wine glass but smells odd. Tastes odd too, like there is no earthiness at all just a hint of citrus. Honestly I am not sure how this is considered a saison but I am no expert on the style. I guess I compare them all to dupont or hennepin and this is nothing like that at all. Bottle at Cafe de la Gare, Den Haag. Clear amber pour with a thin white short-lived head. Fruity caramel aroma. The flavour is yeasty with citrus notes with some bitterness on the palate. Quite a complex set of rich flavours. Very satisfying.

Aroma is spicy with a touch of caramel like maltiness. Pours slightly hazy gold. Flavour is spicy and dry with a hint of sweet malt and balancing bitterness

Lightly hazed golden pour with a tall white head. Fruit and spice forward aroma to this. Lots of citrus zest, floral hops, white pepper, and coriander notes. A nice herbal aroma as well. The flavor is crisp and mildly sweet. Some bready malt, a bit of herbs, floral hops, and some white pepper. A nice citrus zestiness, some yeast, and a hint of grass.

Bottle 330ml, BBE 01/01/14. Pours a slightly hazy amber with a large, stylish, thick and creamy, white head. Aroma is floral and spicy. Flavor is much of that too with added fruitiness and light yeast. Palate is medium and quite carbonated. A good thirst quencher, not that special on its own. But where it really shines is with food - as a good saison should. Can be paired with a whole bunch of things. Mine was roast beef marinated in smoked porter and a slaw-style salad with a lot of spicy mustard and smoked paprika.
