3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: JUL 6, 2012 Golden, hazy, with a frothy white head as a saison should look like. Wheat, yellow fruit, clear citrus, mild herbs. Decent. It is a little sweeter than most saisons. A little more carbonation would also have been nice. Alcohol is a background player. Tasty but not great. (5,00 EUR, 75cl bottle)

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
On tap into a tulip at Jake Melnicks...A darker gold, hints of copper, light tope head...The aroma and taste are both super super sweet, all caramel and bread. There is almost a total lack of hops, not bitter our floral nor sourness. It has an ok mouthfeel, the drinkability is ok.
This is a too sweet saison to make it any good, just really boring for a saison.

Disappointing, though largely because I was expecting too much from it. I’ll have to give it a fair re-rating later.

Bottles from Grand Epicerie. And on tap at Academy of Beers in Paris. Pretty tasty. Taste’s like an Imperial IPA, but with much less alcohol. If you are stuck and France and need an IPA, this is the way to go. Much more consistant between bottles than the Dupont saison.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
RFD Washington tap ($8): Pours a cloudy peach color with a white head. Aroma is of yeast, fruits, and a whole lot of spices. Upon tasting it, there is a good mouthfeel, with moderate carbonation, which in my opinion, compliments a lot of the spice. Notes of pepper and sage (I think it was sage at least). Very slightly sweet. Quite a minor note of hops. On the light-bodied side of things.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
A hazed golden saison with a thick frothy off white head. In aroma, nice creamy orange peels, honey, coriander, quite nice. In mouth, a smooth sweet fruity ester with light chalkyness, a bit oxidized but nice. Medium bodied. Bieropholie import, BB 29-09-11.

750ml corked and caged bottle served in a Blvd. Tank 7 tulip. Poured a hazy gold with a big white head. Lots of carbonation. Aroma started out slightly skunky, but then bright citrus and a bit of noble hops really came out. Fairly light bodied. Lots of spice in the flavor and finish. Very dry, but a bit of malt came out as it warmed. Very drinkable. Solid Saison.
