St-Feuillien’s Saison is what the Belgians call a beer of the terroir, a traditional farmhouse ale with all the rich savour of the fertile land of southern Belgium. Saison, a warm golden blonde beer, is a top-fermented classique. Thanks to secondary fermentation in the bottle, Saison has an unmistakable flavour full of rich nuances and a slight tang.Judge for yourself. 750s and 20L kegs only. In first instance, for export to the USA only.

From a 11 oz can. Aroma of just plain good lager beer, fresh and interesting. Nice head, some haze in an otherwise oale looking brew. Taste is failrly light. Rather light for a saison, but there is this mild to medium bitter background building in the back of the throat. Does not seem like near 7% on the palate. Comes across mild mannered for the alky contnet. As session continues, develops abit of that farmy sensation on th olfactory and taste buds. Good co2. Yes, finishes off with a mild to medium astringent bitterness on the back of the throat.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines; cloudy amber pour with off white head, quite sweet taste with yeasty barnyard action with some spice very good.

Bottle. Pleasant fruity pear skin and wet hay. Yeast dominates. Would be nice if there was something to cut the Peary doughy sweetness. Pretty good though.

Can... Poured hazy golden amber with a thick forming white head. Aroma of grassy hops along with an earthy yeast spice. Bright mouthfeel. Dry and foaming. Citrus notes. Vibrant hop tones. Earthy and spicy with a nice Belgian heart character. Effervescent. Lasting fruitiness in the finish.

Bottle from total wine sterling. Pours golden with an inch of white foam. A bit of the barnyard on the nose. A little peppery on the tongue. Finishes clean. Solid but not spectacular.

Bottle. Hazy amber golden. Thin white head. Not much aroma. Grassy yeasty w some floral hop. Not much of the saison funk found in US saisons. Still a decent dry beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A perfect example of how the style should be. Stand alone grassy, hoppy crisp mouthfeel. Perfect pilsner crisp flavors. This may have revolutionized lawnmowing. Drinking in a can.

Aroma has earthy, herbal and honey notes. Taste has more noble hop notes with some of those characteristic peppery and earthy farmhouse flavors. Finish is nice and dry, excellent example of a traditional farmhouse/saison.

Bottle at home. Pours a medium orange with effervescent, quickly dissipating head - no lacing. Aroma is flowers and fruit, very light. Taste is fruity, some spice, light tang. Super light on the palate - very good beer for a warm day.

Can @ stone street tavern in NYC. Cloudy orangle color. No lace or head really. Smell and taste of yeast and wheat. Good saison ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
