St-Feuillien’s Saison is what the Belgians call a beer of the terroir, a traditional farmhouse ale with all the rich savour of the fertile land of southern Belgium. Saison, a warm golden blonde beer, is a top-fermented classique. Thanks to secondary fermentation in the bottle, Saison has an unmistakable flavour full of rich nuances and a slight tang.Judge for yourself. 750s and 20L kegs only. In first instance, for export to the USA only.

UPDATED: OCT 23, 2013 330ml bottle, despite the description. Pours a hazy gold with a mashed-potato head; rich and solid looking. Nose is citrus and yeast, with an almost berried element to it; there’s a barnyard undertone that’s very nice. Round and crisp on the tongue -- there’s that berry thing again, along with a wonderful citrus quality backed up by real depth. Finishes long and astringent -- very pleasant. This is a very very good beer.

750ml bottle. Yeast, spicy aromas. Pours hazy golden with creamy white head, vanishing, some lacing. Medium body, average carbonation. Taste is some fruity, spicy, yeasty, with a long dry finish. Balanced.

Doesn’t pour with much fanfair. Pours with very little head, just a collar really. Good carbonation and a cloudy golden orange body. Aroma is tart and pungent. Some pale and pilsner malts, some lemon fruit and hops. Peppery. Taste is quite tart. Plenty of malts and yeast upfront with a sweetness too. Hops are bitter but soft also. Spicy and peppercorns. Feels thinner on the palette. I think it drinks nicely could also be a desent Beligum IPA

Bottle as shown. Pours a cloudy yellow with a small frothy off white head. The aroma is yeast and pepper. Thin mouthfeel with a dry yeast flavor and citrus with dry finish. A decent saison.

Hazy orange in colour with a thin skin of head. Smells of dried apricots, dehydrated orange peel... you really have to put your nose into this and draw deeply to gain the array of aromas. Fresh smelling. The flavour is much more mature of stewed fruit and a tang of acidity. Finishes with greengages and mandarin. A tasty wee blighter. Very nice.

A cloudy, golden beer with a big, dense and blond head. Aroma is aromatic and temptating, fruits, dry spicyness, parfume. Overally aroma is light, but very aromatic. Taste is (belgian)fruity, nice drying spicyness, some parfume, overally quite dry taste. Medium bodied, lots of carbonation, but it’s smooth, fresh and easily light to drink. Fruitfull, fresh and aromatic beer.

All around textbook example of a Saison; bready nose, pepper, earth, and apple flavors all from a golden cloudy medium bodied farmhouse style ale.
