COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
St-Feuillien’s Saison is what the Belgians call a beer of the terroir, a traditional farmhouse ale with all the rich savour of the fertile land of southern Belgium. Saison, a warm golden blonde beer, is a top-fermented classique. Thanks to secondary fermentation in the bottle, Saison has an unmistakable flavour full of rich nuances and a slight tang.Judge for yourself. 750s and 20L kegs only. In first instance, for export to the USA only.

Bottle at home. Has a slightly hazy light orange colour with a frothy off-white medium head. Nice aroma of herbs, hops, hay, mango, belgium yeast and some spicy pepper. Malty and herbal flavours of hay and hops at first, and then a nice mellow finish with citrus. The mouthfeel is soft, and a light to medium bitterness. A very compact and nice saison. Incredible well balanced.

(Drinking date: 17 April 2014) Hazy golden orange beer with fast disappearing thin foam. Looks delicious. Lovely aroma and taste of banana, citrus, coriander. Also unfortunately a bit of a metallic aroma. A bit too much carbonation. Overall a nice beer, not too special, but still good. I am enjoying it! That’s why I give it the total score of 3.5!

Glass at Winking Lizard Crosswoods on 4/9/14. Cloudy orange pour with a thick white head. Aroma of malt, coriander, light citrus and banana. Malty flavor with slight banana and herbs before a mild finish.

April 10, 2014. 330mL bottle from LCBO. Rich golden yellow, somewhat cloudy. White lacy head. Aromas of lemon, straw, hints of sweetness apparent. Flavours similar to aromas. Lovely saison, very drinkable.

Bottle 75 cl. Pours hazy golden in color with a foamy whitish head. Garden fruits, summer meadow and citrus in aroma. Bit of sweetness is present as well. Lemony juicyness in taste with some bitterness and sweetness too. Later on the somewhat spicy notes steps forward, bit of clove and forrest herbalness mostly. There’s some nice ripe garden fruityness and sweetness with some bitterness in aftertaste and also that slightly biting spicyness, which makes this a tasty and refreshing brew.

Pours light orange with an initial massive foamy head that ends up lasting quite awhile. Nose is tart and yeast. Notes of lemon, some cereal, lots of dough with a little spice in the finish. Taste is very light sweet, light sour and light bitterness all in great balance. Mouth is lightish, somewhat creamy with lively carbonation. Awesome!

UPDATED: APR 13, 2014 From can. The experience was not much more than a banana taffy and bubble gum explosion of yeast and stew-y tropical fruit. No matter how long I let them sit I could not get a clear pour. The silty texture began to annoy and Belgian pale malt seems saccharine-like. Lemon peel bitterness and floral / soap character in the finish.
