COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
St-Feuillien’s Saison is what the Belgians call a beer of the terroir, a traditional farmhouse ale with all the rich savour of the fertile land of southern Belgium. Saison, a warm golden blonde beer, is a top-fermented classique. Thanks to secondary fermentation in the bottle, Saison has an unmistakable flavour full of rich nuances and a slight tang.Judge for yourself. 750s and 20L kegs only. In first instance, for export to the USA only.

Wow. Let me first say, this beer is truly unique. The aroma is spicy, with some clear citrusy aromas reminiscent of lemon soda, with a slight twist of ginger. The beer is perfectly dry, with a good amount of carbonation for the style. On the palate i get spicy malt with a slight funk to it. kind of a basement-ish barnyard flavor. I also get loads of citrus, bread, and a clove flavor. Finishes off crisp and very refreshing.

Bottle (750 ml) @ Delirium Hoppy Loft, Brussels 150514. Yeasty, fruity and spicy, a bit too sweet, medium body with a watery texture. The finish is dry, yeasty and a bit too sweet.

Bottle shared. Hazy light orange with big white head. Peach, lots of spices with some pepper, curry, ginger bread, gagel. Quite herbal towards the finish. Taste is over medium sweet with light bitter finish. Medium bodied with full soft feeling carbonation. Nice, but a bit too sweet for me.

Can. Pours a hazy orange color with white head. Hay, yeasty, dusty aromas. Dusty, tangy, citrus, malty sweet flavors. Not overly impressive, but not bad.

The beer appears as a slightly hazy golden color with a white head that lasts forever. Smells is a bit metallic and has a clear St Feuillien signature to it. Taste is the most impressive thing in this beer. It conjugates a nice dryness (but not too dry neither) with the full complexity of a saison yeast. It’s almost like you taste the yeast character better than the malt itself. And it finishes on a slightly sweet taste. I also find a citrus signature, possibly some orange peel. However, it’s possible that it’s just a part of the yeast signature. Carbonation is spot on and the mouthfeel too. I remembered this beer as being just ok and now that my palate has become more accurate, I find it just awesome. I might even push it a little bit further by saying that it’s better than Saison Dupont...

Bottle 0,33L. Dry, mild spicy notes + mild citrusy, little fruity taste. Refreshing. Decent body with lively carbonation. Unfortunately there’s not a whole lot of flavors here. Nice, but decent.

Freshly cut grass, a little bit of honey, some funk, but not much. A decent beer, but not the best ever.

Bottle - 330ml. Beautiful golden, cloudy body with a thin, fading, white foamy head. Fresh malty/hoppy aroma with citrusy and herbal hints. Its sharp hoppy taste carries malty, herbal, and citrusy notes. Ends with a long bitter/sour finish. Good Saison.

0.33l bottle from Pivoteka za popen’t in Ljubljana. Starts with huge foamy and persistent head, which has nice spicy, floral aromas and similar taste with a strong bitter note. Colour is orange and cloudy, apparently an unfiltered beer. Complex taste. Fruity, malty and has a lot of yeast as well. Moderate carbonation, harmonic mouthfeel. Bitterness not strong, but must be there because this is not a sweet beer. Aftertaste is dry, moderately bittter. Extremely well composed beer.
