St-Feuillien’s Saison is what the Belgians call a beer of the terroir, a traditional farmhouse ale with all the rich savour of the fertile land of southern Belgium. Saison, a warm golden blonde beer, is a top-fermented classique. Thanks to secondary fermentation in the bottle, Saison has an unmistakable flavour full of rich nuances and a slight tang.Judge for yourself. 750s and 20L kegs only. In first instance, for export to the USA only.

Bottled. A hazy golden beer with a huge yellowish head. The aroma has notes of coriander, malt, citrus, yeast, and a bit of caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of citrus, malt, yeast, minerals, and straw, leading to a lightly bitter finish. Thanks KimJohansen for sharing.

4th June 2010. Bottle at Johnny’s Off License, Rome. Cloudy gold beer. Light, soft, frothy and semi dry palate. Aromatic malt. Subtle sweet fruits, sweet yeasty malt. A decent Saison but I think a touch too soft in the palate.

Bottle, 75cl corked, at Bier Central. A big, dense, off-white head leaving lacings as the hazy, golden beer is drunk. Citrus, some hay and yeast on the rather sweetish, yet hoppy nose. A bit sweet on the palate, with a pleasant hoppy flavor and bitterness. Some hay and yeast chimes in. Smooth, full-bodied and slightly warming. Lasting finish with a pleasant bitterness. A nice one, although a bit on the sweet side. 110429
