St-Feuillien’s Saison is what the Belgians call a beer of the terroir, a traditional farmhouse ale with all the rich savour of the fertile land of southern Belgium. Saison, a warm golden blonde beer, is a top-fermented classique. Thanks to secondary fermentation in the bottle, Saison has an unmistakable flavour full of rich nuances and a slight tang.Judge for yourself. 750s and 20L kegs only. In first instance, for export to the USA only.

Bottle 0.33l. Pours hazy amber with long lasting white head. Strong carbonation. Aroma is yeasty, spicy, earthy. Aroma is light sweet, medium bitter, fruity notes, medium dry. Creamy mouthfeel with a good bitterness and a sugary aftertaste. A bit less sugar and this would be close to perfect.

Draft. Pours hazy amber with a creamy white head. Smells like cereal and pilsner malts, yeast, light citrus notes, and faint grassiness. Tastes like semisweet malt with citrus fruit, light herbs, light hop bitterness, and faint spice. Medium body and carbonation.

Draught @ De Baron, Eindhoven. Pours clear amber with small off-white head. Clear aroma of malt, hops and citrus, with a spicy note to it. Bitter, hoppy flavour, with sweetish notes of malt and fruit, and sourish, citric touches. Lively carbonation. Bitter sand rough aftertaste with hints of aniseed. Nice.

11.2 oz can. Excited to try a saison from Belgium in a can, possibly tasting more true. Pours a bold orange color. Aroma is of belgian yeast, honey, and citrus. Carbonation is lower than expected, moderately low. Sips malty bread sweet. Middle turns slightly bitter and tanic. Some banana like esters lead into a bitter and yeasty finish, with the distinct peppery aftertaste.

Geruch fruchtig hefig, im Mundgefühl unheimlich spritzig. Recht trocken, ein Hauch Kaugummi. Recht vollmundig. Stilentsprechend.

Bottle at Hiranoya. Interesting, fruity, tomato! Light tropical, grainy, aroma is full of Belgian yeastiness, light and grainy, berries. Taste is better than I remember, good stuff. Light citrus. Bit of creaminess later.

Bottle. Beautiful hazy, darkish-yellow color. Nice frothy creamy head. Aromas of fresh grains, a little pine in there as well, yeast and Emerthaler cheese. Light citric touch at the very end (big whiff!). Very inviting. Large citrus and pine taste, very refreshing. Turns to an agreeable creamy and slightly sweet palate, even a hint of exotic fruits. In the distance, this reminds of a Weissen. Yeast flavor permeates. Light citrus aftertaste. Great summer beer.

St. Feuillien Saison has a medium, off-white head, and a hazy, brilliant (almost luminescent) orange appearance, with very noticeable and relatively large, brown chunks at the bottom. Not much lacing, here. The aroma is of pungent, spicy, horse-blanket, and musty grains. Taste is of all that with maybe white pepper and basil? Bitterness is low. Mouthfeel is medium, and St. Feuillien Saison finishes semi-dry and delicious. No complaints, only plaudits, from me. RJT

Can. Pours cloudy blonde with white one finger head. Nose: yeast, honey and slight citrus. Carbonated, taste of hops slightly sweet. Not bad. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
