Aroma of sweet toasty biscuity malts and some light caramel toffee with hints of light fruitiness and some grassy citrusy hops. Starts with good fullness and light malty sweetness with a juicy citrus hop balance and some earthy bitterness before a drier, crisp finish. An enjoyable and true to style saison.

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 6, 2010 Bottled 75cl. It pours a murky copper beer with a lovely carbonation. Beautiful huge fluffy light beige head. Hops, candy sugar, yeast and subtle melon components showing up in the nose. Creamy palate. Sublime hop profile balanced by some yeast which has plenty of character. The carbonation is rather strong. Complex. Long yeasty finish which is reminiscent of melon. Deeply pleasant. A great beer. zdk (324), New York, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jan 6, 2010 Pours a pale, hazy yellow. Arouma is fresh and crisp with nice spicy notes. Profile is sweet caramel and candy, honey and some graininess. Nice sprightly carbonation. Well balanced. Glouglouburp (2897), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 4, 2010 In short: A by-the-book well executed rustic Saison. Very well made even nothing particularly stand-out.
How: Bottle 750ml corked&caged. Consumed moderately fresh a 1.5 year before expiration fresh.
The look: Cloudy golden body topped by a medium off-white head
In long: Typical wild and rustic Saison nose, the type of countryside aroma I never get tired of. Body is full, carbonation is lively, doughy/bready malt+yeast, straw, lemongrass, light spiciness sensation (salt, white pepper), citrus notes. Well hopped with a hop character that is somewhere between dry yellow grass and garden flowers. Just to whine a bit I could say that finish could have been dryer and a little less flower juice. But overall this is a (new) classic example of the style. A Saison from St-Feuillien!!!, and considering the history of this great Belgian brewery I’d say what the girlfriend says when I come back home on Friday nights. About f**kin time! after4ever (2863), Brier, Washington, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 31, 2009 750, corked and baled. Pours a crystal clear medium amber with a towering, frothy, sudsy platinum blond head. Lots of eggy lacing everywhere you look. Mild peppery lemony nose with some lemongrass layered in. Fizzy, somewhat creamy medium body. Lemons, hay, bits of floral, and some white pepper on the mid-palate. Not bad at all, but lacks the boldness and distinction of a Dupont by a fair margin. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 31, 2009 A Mes rate. Bottle at home. Thanks to our Weasel. Hazy amber gold with a thin white head. A clean and drinkable saison. Plenty of yeast and lemon with a good chalky dryness. Some tropical stuff in the finish. Interesting and drinkable but not amazing. A clear St Feuillien stamp throughout. Decent, just a little sickly. notalush (2699), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 24, 2009 Draft at Cheeky Monk - cloudy peach-colored beer, with an impressive, frothy head - quite an earthy beer indeed, with a lot of cellared, cobweb notes - not as dry as a lot of saisons - actually, there is quite a bit of honey sweetness - this one sits somewhere in between saison and biere de garde - apricot and other fruity notes - toasted grains - wheaty tang - spicy, almost peppery finish, with lingering sweetness behind it - quite tasty, actually.
