St-Feuillien’s Saison is what the Belgians call a beer of the terroir, a traditional farmhouse ale with all the rich savour of the fertile land of southern Belgium. Saison, a warm golden blonde beer, is a top-fermented classique. Thanks to secondary fermentation in the bottle, Saison has an unmistakable flavour full of rich nuances and a slight tang.Judge for yourself. 750s and 20L kegs only. In first instance, for export to the USA only.

Bottle. Small white head. Aroma of orange and yeast. Maybe also some vinegar notes. Not too complex. In flavor peaches, yeast with some vanilla subnotes. Light-medium body. Little bit on sweet side.

Prezentacja: opalizujące, złote, bardzo obfita piana długo się utrzymuje i do końca zostaje konkretną warstwą, ładnie zdobi szkło;
Aromat: mosiądz, zboże, goździk, gałka muszkatołowa, pomarańcza ;
Odczucie: ciało średnie, średnio nasycone, ale gryzące w przełyk i język, z goryczkowym finiszem;
Smak: goździk z gałką muszkatołową, zboże, chleb, karmelowo-drewniana goryczka, lekki alkohol;
Ogólnie: przyjemne, korzenne, ale aromat bije metalem i solidnie się po nim odbija, co psuje pijalność.

Thanks Bruno for this bottle that we share together at Mossel. In my opinion, it is a pleasant beer for your spirit. It is a perfect one for the summer. The color is yellow and troubled. The carbonation is high but it is normal for the style, sparkling, thin foam, there is a perfect wedding between the Belgian ale and the bitterness of the hop, malt, sugar but all the ingredients are in harmony.

BOTTLE 33 CL. Hazy dark golden, big white head. Aroma is pretty weak, touch of malt, wild herbs and hints of spicy alcohols. The taste follows, too malty for saison, wild herbs, very light spicy bitterness. I think is not dry enough for a saison. Only... decent.

Copenhagen 23/9 2016. 75 cl bottle from Meny. A declaration assuring me that I am holding a "Belgian farmhouse Ale" and a drawing to assure me that this beer surely do contain hops. Very informative and a little bit American style marketing. Pours cloudy golden yellow with white head. Settles as thin layer of foam. Aroma is sourish and tart. Lots of citrus with an undercurrent of sweetish lemonade. A little Belgian yeast as well. Quite strong and prickly carbonation and watery palate. Flavor is medium sweet followed by sour citrus and medium bitterness. The carbonation makes you burp but you feel frigging great while doing it. Just as a Saison should be.

75cl bottle purchased at Jumbo supermarket, Amsterdam and poured into a snifter on 11-Sep-2016. Hazy golden pale colour with a medium sized white head which settles down into a thin film pretty quickly. Aroma of sweet malt, Belgian yeast, citrus and fruit. Medium body and carbonation. Slightly bitter taste, with a spicy finish. Sweet malt, coriander, and lemon peel. Bittersweet hoppy finish. Nice beer - very Belgian.

[backlog] 09-04-16 / 750ml bottle at home, bought in Belgium. Golden colour. Farmhouse, hay notes. Well carbonated. Hoppy bitter finish. I started rating my beers with Untappd and a few basic notes. Now I want to rate them on ratebeer. So my rating sometimes lack some information. Just ignore it, it is for my personal statistics. Untappd-Rating 3.25/5

330 ml can from Schnucks on State St in Rockford, IL, served at cellar temp from a Duvel glass. Hazy deep gold-amber, light bubbling in the body, big diminishing head that leaves a bit of lasting ring and foamy lace...rather sweet floral nose - clover and jasmine - with touches of honey, light grassy hops; not particularly farmy or pungent, though with some warmth and after a few sips, a strong, strong note of thyme appears...in the body it’s a bit on the sweet side, somewhat undercarbonated and flaccid, though not syrupy or sticky, with that herbal dryness at the finish, that note of thyme creating a really odd back end flavor profile that has a bit of spoiled milk character...finish is a little drier, short. This is weird; not really bad, but just odd and with all kinds of off characteristics that combine to make it somewhat unsettling. I’m fairly tolerant of flaws if I find the end product still drinkable, and I do in this case, but I can’t really say it’s good.

ALIBALI (774) - Kiel, GERMANY - AUG 25, 2016
Beide Versionen gleich gut.
