mjg74 (1995), La Mesa, California, USA Apr 29, 2008 Updated: Oct 15, 2008Bottle from BevMo. Slightly hazy golden/orange in color. Aroma is fairly grainy with an interesting spicy character. Some light fruitiness. Somewhat sweet and dry up front. Well carbonated. Some spiced yeast flavors. Very dry with a bit of an earthy quality. Finish is a little bitter with some pepper. wyzzywyz22 (752), Wirral, Merseyside, England Apr 27, 2008 Bottle, Beers of Europe. A tidy tripel this fella. Pours clear and golden with a creamy white head.. Aroma is spicy, with some fruit and yeast. Flavour is more of the same. Cultured and drinkable. tupalev (2605), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Apr 26, 2008 Bottle shared with Jerc, Hogtown Harry, Blankboy, and Mabel, courtesy of Jerc and Mabel. This one was neat, as I was not really paying attention to the label or the name, I was just enjoying the good company and conversation and then, wham, a stunning Tripel I had never heard of sneaks up on me. Yay beer! Anyway, cloudy yellow, decent sized white head. Strong yeasty aroma. Good taste - strong yeast, bitter, some background balanced sweetness, good dose of alcohol. Very balanced and very drinkable while sacrificing nothing in terms of complexity or character - in other words a very good Tripel. RollinHard (748), Fort Worth, Texas, USA Apr 22, 2008 Pours a hazy straw to gold color with a fluffy white head. Aroma of straw honey, gouda cheese, chardonnay and grass. Lots of pilsner malt characteristics. Balanced flavor, sweet with notes of honey, hay/grass, light amounts of toffee, lighter rye breads. Finishes with a heavier grassy bitterness and a sort of cheesy earthy flavor, but the lingering sweet honey flavor has become cloying by this point. High carbonation is a little annoying at first, especially after having a creamier tripel just before this. I’d say this is certainly servicable, but just not very unique. FishManLA (284), Abita Springs, Louisiana, USA Apr 21, 2008 Pours a cloudy straw blonde color with a fluffy and foamy white head that persists for quite some time. Nose of pears, bananas and biscuits. Fruity notes are also prominent in the taste with biscuit notes as well. It’s almost got a "biscuit with jelly on it" sort of thing going on in the flavor. Hoppy finish that’s sweet and just the right amount of bitter. A good triple. blankboy (3156), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Apr 21, 2008 Bottle (750ml) shared with HogTownHarry, tupalev, jerc & mabel -- courtesy of mabel. Pours a hazy yellow with a large lasting foamy white head. Aroma’s sweet and fruity along with floral hops and spices. Flavour of wheat, citrus, yeast, light hops, spices and some sugary sweetness. Medium spicy bitter finish. Medium bodied. Good carbonation. Pretty good stuff, a nice easy-drinking version of the style. jerc (3861), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Apr 18, 2008 2008-04-18. Hazy golden pastel , modest fluffy white head. Hoppy aroma, with notes of lemon, light grassy notes with a sweet malty undertone base. Flavour is similar with zippy hops, sweet and sour lemons, pale malt base, very light tea note in the finish. Smooth average plus palate. I like it. Bottle from Mabel’s Florida Trip
Hank1980 (732), Athens, Georgia, USA Apr 7, 2008 Pours hazy golden with a foamy white head. Aroma of clove, spice, and yeast. Taste is similar with plenty of tartness; a very easy drinking beer. Some of the flavors make this seem almost like a saison. Body is light & lively, with plenty of carbonation.
