obxdude10 (1546), Pottstown, Pennsylvania, USA Feb 20, 2007 Huge & foamy white head, cloudy & hazy dark golden color, fruity nose with notes of yeast, orange, coriander & a touch of alcohol, very smooth & drinkable, fairly light in body which makes this very dangerous, you can go through a bunch of these & wonder where they went, and then wonder why you feel the way you do, dense flavors with notes of raisin, coriander, pepper, orange & light hops, lingering finish & aftertaste that was very spicy with a touch of alcohol, very enjoyable, a great tripel
Adenila (931), Denmark Feb 18, 2007 Beutifull golden appearance with a long lasting white creamy head. Fruity nose with hints of raisin and alcohol. Sparkling palate and a wellmade sweetness that balance out the alcohol. Well tasting long lasting finish, like a desert! BeerandBlues2 (3201), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Feb 14, 2007 Draught at The Map Room. Pours hazy dark yellow with a large off-white fizzy head, mostly lasting, good lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (bread, hay, straw), average hops (herbs, grass) and average yeast (barnyard, earth). Full bodied, alcoholic texture, soft carbonation and an astringent finish. Average duration, moderate sweetness and bitterness, heavy acidity. DrnkMcDermott (1831), Downers Grove, Illinois, USA Feb 13, 2007 Draft goblet at The Map Room, Chicago. Big golden pour with a bit of haze and a white thin pils head. Sweet tripel malt smell cuts through the damnable cigarette smoke in the room. Taste is almost too light, though. A nicely toasted light malt taste, slight bitterness. But the alcohol is hidden here. I know it’ll ambush me at some point, but I just couldn’t pick it out. Hawksfan17 (717), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Feb 10, 2007 Pours a bubbly gold. Smells of fruit, clove, spices, etc. It has a malty, spicy flavor combined with others that I cannot place. A nice silky spicy finish. SledgeJr (2957), Omaha, Nebraska, USA Feb 10, 2007 At the 2007 Big Beer, Belgians, & Barleywines Festival in Vail. Pours orange with a fluffy white head that lasts and lasts. Perfume and floral hops to the aroma. Crisp palate of medium malt and some spiciness. More generous use of flavoring hops than I typically see in a belgian. Nice. eyesandsmiles (179), Mission Viejo, California, USA Feb 10, 2007 loved it. it is, as advertised, very fruity. retains its strength and smells heavenly. Nate (2533), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA Feb 7, 2007 Courtesy of santoslhalper. Aged two years. Spicy, herbal nose with witchhazel and heather, subdued hoppiness. Undefined herbs reminiscent of a natural cough drop. Lemongrass? Mild alcohol notes to this musky aroma. Golden amber clear with a bit of dregs haze, topped with thin off-white lacing head. Medium bodied, with light to medium carbonation. Starts with sweet malts, fruity with heavy herbal spicyness, some tastes which elude me. Mild bitterness at first in the finish, followed by light chalky yeast. A decent tripel with nice qualities after aging. Dry bitter fruit skins after. Would like to compare to fresh.
