Commercial Description:
This beer has a white, smooth and very compact head. Its pale amber colour is very characteristic revealing a distinctive maltiness. It has a rich aroma with a unique combination of aromatic hops, spices and the typical bouquet of fermentation - very fruity. Secondary fermentation in the bottle gives it a unique aroma due to the presence of yeast. St Feuillien Triple has a very strong and exceptionally lingering taste thanks to its density and its long storage period.

22 Jul 2006 - Light apricot, spiced, hoppy with some barnyard touches. Light cloudy amber colour, good fluffy head and good suds lacing. Luscious fruit and hop flavour. Thick mouthfeel, tangy finish and lovely fruit hop balance. This is one of my favourite tripels.

Pours golden with a fizzy and slightyl rocky white head. Candy sugar, apple/tropical fruit, and light doughy yeast aroma. Lots of fruit and peppery spice in the flavor, a small hint of licorice, light hop bitterness, and a bit of mint on the finish. Palate is light/medium, effervescent, dryer than expected, lightly alcoholic, slightly bitter, and a bit of lingering peppermint. Nicely balanced with such an interesting array of flavors. Certainly worth trying.

750ml bottle. Poured a medium golden color with an averaged sized white head. Aromas of spices and fruits (apples). Tastes of the same. I found both the aromas and tastes to be on the softer and muted side. I would have preferred them to be stronger.

Dark murky orange with a thick rocky head. Decent lacing. Nice refreshing ’transparant’ aroma of honey, sugar, hops and sweet flowers, without becoming unbalanced. Lush taste, drier than expected, very complex. Carbonation was heavy which kinda distracted from the flavor, but it made the brew very crisp & refreshing. A very good tripel.

750ml, sampled May 2001. Pours a bright white head that sits dutifully atop a hazy golden body that looks as if it contains an oily honey. Raucous sweet malt aroma escapes the confines of the glass, a prelude to a nose of alcohol, candy sugar, generous malts and peppery fruits. Flavor is much the same, now hops are showing thier face, along with some tart caramel. Alcohol is very warm but not offensive, meshing quite well with the spiciness and sweetness. Palate was medium to full and the body seemed very well rounded and expressive for this style. Finishes on the dry side with a lingering white pepper component. This example seems to have just enough bitterness from hops to compliment the other nuances, never detracting from the quaffability. Very tasty, never too sweet. Great triple, a classic.
