Commercial Description:
This beer has a white, smooth and very compact head. Its pale amber colour is very characteristic revealing a distinctive maltiness. It has a rich aroma with a unique combination of aromatic hops, spices and the typical bouquet of fermentation - very fruity. Secondary fermentation in the bottle gives it a unique aroma due to the presence of yeast. St Feuillien Triple has a very strong and exceptionally lingering taste thanks to its density and its long storage period.

In short: A tasty and crisp tripel with an intense dry noble hopping. One of the best tripel out there. Underrated.
How: Bottle 750ml/330 many times. This re-write for a fresh (about 6 months) 750ml bottle.
The look: Partly cloudy golden body topped by medium white head leaving good lacing
In long: Nose is fruity, grassy and spicy. A rather complex taste. Main attractions are the fruity yeast (not focussing on any particular fruit), nice mix of spices (again with a lot more than just the usual coriander) and a whole lot of dry noble hops. Just citrusy enough to give it a pleasant refreshing tartness. Body feels full rich and crisp at the same time. Finish is very sharp (almost aggressive) and dry. With some age on it the finish becomes less sharp/dry and the fruity flavours take more room. I prefer fresh. 9% abv very well hidden. One of the best Tripel out there. I buy these this beer in large quanitities. Even bought a full 24 not so long ago. And when it’s all gone it leaves a hole in my heart almost as big as the one in my wallet.

Hazy gold, heavy and resiny. Finishes quite bitterly. Smells like a tree. Girlfriend couldn’t finish it. Run-of- the-mill elephant tranquilizer.

No date. Clear gold with a modest, fizzy white head. A single side of the glass is filled with bubbles moving very quickly from bottom to top, the rest of the glass is clear. Nose is rich, sweet, malty. Light fruits, hops, and yeast also. Same flavors, a bit of musty funk, yeast adds some spicy and doughy notes, herbs and alcohol in there, also. Full, balanced body. Great tripel.

(Rating #473)

Draught. At Cole’s, Buffalo NY. Poured pale clear slightly bubbly gold (got hazier as it warmed) with a smallish white creamy head. Pleasant fruit/spice/alcohol/yeast light bitter hops aroma, the taste was quite similar although very smooth with a surprisingly spicy bitter lemon zest medium-long finish. Average body, quite sticky, decently carbonated, subtle and nicely complex - a very good and easy-drinking tripel which I think I might rate higher from the bottle - just a guess. ** Original rating 7/3/8/4/15 --- re-rated April 18 2008 - much, much better, complex, tasty, smelled great.

Gold blond colour, average white head. Malty and fruity aroma. Full body, rather bitter finish with a light fruity ending.

(Bottle) Pours light golden with high/very fluffy and stable white head. Taste is extremely complex, with notes of spices/fruits and malts. Rather strong notes of pepper in the aftertaste. High ABV% yet the beer is easy drinkable and refreshing. Very good!
