Superb golden/orange hazy body topped with a thin but lasting white frothy head. Aroma is surprisingly dominated by hops and herbs. Various hints of honey, spices and yeast. Alcohol remains well hidden. Taste is well balanced but is less complex than the aroma is. It is quite dry and it leaves a long bittersweet aftertaste. This very nice Tripel is a babystep below Chimay or Achel. BuckNaked (1204), Tempe, Arizona, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 12, 2005 750ml bottle: Mostly clear golden yelllow with a large, frothy white head. Aroma is grass, slightly tart pears, with a hint of banana, a touch of lemon, and a bit of esters. Flavor is a mixture of light citrus, grass, and grain up front, followed by some light fruits, some yeast, spice, alcohol showing through, light malts, and a bit of pepper. Finishes dry with notes of light wood, grains, a bit of grassy hops, and a slight alcohol burn in the nose. Light to medium bodied, slick mouthfeel, moderate to high carbonation. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 10, 2005 Slightly hazy golden color with a nice big white foam head on top. Aroma is mostly grassy notes, not very sweet or citrus smelling. Flavor has a slight sugary taste to it, but its mostly a robust malt and medium citrus taste to it. Palate is rather dry, pretty good beer, but far from amazing. kook (2034), Perth, Western Australia, Australia
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 7, 2005 Poured slightly hazy gold in colour, with a persistant white head. Aroma of pepper and spice, with some fruity esters and alcohol. Flavour is very fruity, lots of esters and spice. Alcohol does show more than I expected. Not a bad tripel though. Oh how I wish I could have this on tap. Just about as good as tripels get in my opinion. Just like the regular St. Feuillien but with nobs on and oh what nobs they are! Downable and does the trick every time. Great stuff. Anyone who enjoys beer will love this. turbothy (721), Bonn, Germany
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 2, 2005 Very light and sweet in spite of the alcohol. Fruity scent, large white lasting head. Pours straw yellow and goes down easily with a fresh and dry taste. heemer77 (4303), Savannah, Missouri, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 22, 2005 Sampled at a festival. Poured a light gold color with an aroma of pears and cinnamon. The mouthfeel is thick and full. The taste is dry apple cider with some black pepper spice in the finish. A little on the dry side for a tripel. Mklein818 (165), Etterbeek, Virginia, Belgium
