This beer has a white, smooth and very compact head. Its pale amber colour is very characteristic revealing a distinctive maltiness. It has a rich aroma with a unique combination of aromatic hops, spices and the typical bouquet of fermentation - very fruity. Secondary fermentation in the bottle gives it a unique aroma due to the presence of yeast. St Feuillien Triple has a very strong and exceptionally lingering taste thanks to its density and its long storage period.

33cl bottle at home (21 XI 2015). A yellow to golden, vivid beer fills the glass with a white head on top. the nose has lots of sweets and yeast. Maybe some citrus fruits too. The taste is bitter sweet, and the high volume in alcohol makes this a warming brew. The malts and Belgian yeast are well balanced. The ending is subtly herby, with a strong bitterness. Not bad, but also a dull strong Belgian blonde.

Sloppy beer. Typical Belgian beer. No special flavor or fragrance. Do not drink it anyway. Follow me @ Kung av öl @ Facebook for more pictures and ratings.

Floraal aroma, beetje citrus. Mooi goudblond bier met lichte pareling. Graan, brood, sinaasappelschil, redelijk romig. Goeie tripel niks mis mee.

Copenhagen 1/11 2015. 75 cl bottle from Meny. A variety of shields and catholic hats to get you in the mood for a triple. Pours slightly hazy yellow with big white head. Settles as 1 cm thick layer of foam with some lacing. Strong aroma of Belgian yeast with hints of oranges, banana and a little alcohol. Rather strong carbonation and oily palate. Taste is rich and spicy. Belgian yeast and something quite sweet - like banana and caramel. Aftertaste is a little sour. Lingering aftertaste of yeast and alcohol. Nice slightly boozy triple.

Clear straw with good carbonation and firm head. Typical tripel. Some lemon peel, white sugar, yeast, a bit spicy. Nothing original but nice finish and good craftsmanship

Bottle - very lively, high carbonation. Thick white head over golden yellow beer. Mellow banana yeast aroma. Ok on tongue and in mouth, smooth - a strong beer, strong alcoholic tasting. Again triple not really my style.

Mi triple preferida, aroma suave, sabor intenso con toques cítricos y frutales, final muy agradable con un retrogusto duradero y ligeramente amargo.

8.5%ABV. Tripel. Poured out of the bottle a dirty cloudy yellow amber color. 10ºSRM. Nose as nice clean light wheaty and malty flavors. Nothing much more beyond that. There is bread dough, whispering about carbs and yeast. There is a clean alcoholic nose as well. I suppose you really shouldn’t be asking for more from a well-brewed traditional Belgian tripel. The whole craft beer revolution has brought with it the expectation of something interesting, intriguing or shocking in terms of aroma that we tend to forget the basics and what that means when these foundational principles of brewing are adhered to and produce an ale that really hasn’t changed very much in 5 or 6 centuries. Mouthfeel is aggressively carbonated. This rides on a palate that has all the right malt flavors of graham cracker, wheat toast, barley loaves, caramel with a nice roasty palate of fresh loaves of cracked barley bread. There are bitter hops signaling the end of the palate and encouraging you to take another sip. There is a slightly atypical heaviness to the palate, almost umami, that you definitely don’t get off of other tripels like a Karmeliet for example. Finish is predictaly alcoholic, bitter and brief. There is an aftertaste of what might be considered to be formic acid, the same tangy lightly earthy and claylike flavor note that you get from bitig the butt off a tropical red ant. Slightly longer and more cloying than would be considered proper in today’s "craft" palate, but then again, I’m pretty sure the fine folks at St Feuillen’s don’t reallly care since what they’re selling is what’s been done the same way since forever... Goes on Favorites List!

UPDATED: NOV 23, 2015 Delft, 17-10-20-15 Zeer lekkere triple! Heeft wat weg van Leffe Triple. Zeer mooie licht oranje kleur en flinke schuimkraag. Lekker prikkelende, bittere smaak. Citrus/perzik.
