This beer has a white, smooth and very compact head. Its pale amber colour is very characteristic revealing a distinctive maltiness. It has a rich aroma with a unique combination of aromatic hops, spices and the typical bouquet of fermentation - very fruity. Secondary fermentation in the bottle gives it a unique aroma due to the presence of yeast. St Feuillien Triple has a very strong and exceptionally lingering taste thanks to its density and its long storage period.

Bitter at St Veronus, Peterborough. Spicy musty aroma. Taste is sweet and lightly spicy. White wine notes. Nice, but not my favorite tripel.

33cl bottle@home in Trappist glass@approx 10 degrees C. Pours cloudy amber with off white head which subdues into a thin white "lid" on the beer. Sweet malty aroma with yeasty and earthy notes. Warm mouthfilling, rather sweet taste of herbs and malt with a distinctly spicy finish including a hint of liquorice. Long lasting aftertaste - malty, yeasty, sweet with also some warmth from the high ABV kicking in. Lacks some of the charm of eg. a Karmeliet but is definitely a serious - perhaps too serious - tripel to be enjoyed slowly and not too cold.

150 cl bottle, about two years old in cellar. Hazy golden with thick fluffy head. Aromas is yeasty, fruity, pears, apricots, light old cured cheese background. Medium to highly sweet, but still reasonably for a tripel. Dry and light bitter finish, light alcoholic touch. Average carbonation, oily. A complex and balanced tripel.

This really improved at cellar temperature. Both bottles purchased at same time but one chilled and one at cellar temp - very different flavours

F: huge frothy long lasting white. C: hazy yellow to gold. A: fruity, esters, banana, malt and Belgian yeast, hint of spicy like coriander, cloves… T: very complex fruity, sweet malt, mostly tangerine ahead then some oranges, spices, lemon, nice delicate bitterness, medium to full body, lively carbonation, discreet but very well balanced and made beer.
