COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer has a white, smooth and very compact head. Its pale amber colour is very characteristic revealing a distinctive maltiness. It has a rich aroma with a unique combination of aromatic hops, spices and the typical bouquet of fermentation - very fruity. Secondary fermentation in the bottle gives it a unique aroma due to the presence of yeast. St Feuillien Triple has a very strong and exceptionally lingering taste thanks to its density and its long storage period.

33 cl. bottle @ Gollem. Clear golden, bubbles rising visible, solid egg-white head. Nose is light apples, bitter esters, light BE yeast, banana, overall still bitter spices & bitter esters do dominate,… Taste is BE yeast, slightly sweet in beginning with light banana & apples, followed by that typical BE bitter effervescent taste, higher carb, esters, bitter spices, bitter bread, fizzy & somewhat soapy,… Not bad but not as good as suggested by the score – largest common dominator fare.

Aroma: Pear drops, straw, yeast and a hint of banana.

Appearance: Hazy golden body with a large, frothy white head that slowly fades. Lively carbonation. Great lacing.

Taste: Nice bittersweet balance. Orange notes with white pepper on the finish. Not particularly complex.

Palate: Medium body with an oily texture. Fizzy carbonation.

Overall: Not quite as good as the Blonde or the Brune, but still a decent Belgian ale.

Bottled, 330ml from Beers of Europe, Norfolk, aged 5yrs. Gold with white head, lively, with yeast lumps. Strong on the aroma which is of pear drop and banana candy. The flavour has smoothed, there is a rounded light spice note, some floweriness and a plummy sweetness, nicely mellow, the alcohol is there but not harsh. All in all quite decent.

Pours hazy gold, frothy white head. Moderate spice/pepper, alcohol, a bit of banana in the aroma. Some lemony esters, clove phenols in the flavour, along with a hint of alcohol. A bit less than the median for spiciness in the tripels I’ve tried. Definite warmth along with banana in the finish.

I think out of all beer styles, the tripel is the most effervescent -- even more than regular Belgian blonde ales and saisons -- and this is a good example of that. I’m going to break the "777 ratings" for this beer but all good things must come to an end.
