Bottle. Clear medium yellow with a short, fizzy, white head rapidly diminishing. The aroma is malty sweet with notes of grain and toffee. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and lightly bitter. Medium body, watery texture and moderate carbonation. Not a lot of taste, but there is some bread and corn. Finishes dry. Not terribly offensive, but not a lot to this beer.

Bottle, as part of a "beers of the World"variety pack. Once again, Iím a sucker and buy an 8-pack of beer that Iíve already had, except for one weird one like this. At least Harviestoun Old Engine Oil was part of the pack too. This poured a standard golden lager with a foamy white cap. Sweet grainy aroma and flavour, light corn. Not bad for a cheapie lager from across the world.

Crisp gold. Thin partial white head. Thin light grain scent. Sweet flavour, slightly rough and grainy flavour. You could get used to it in the sun but...

Bottle, drank chilled and at high speed from the bottle. Looks like a bottle of beer. Honey, crackers and noble hops aroma. Taste of honey, hot metal shavings, baked beans, tablemats. I love it when a brewery turn your prejudices on their head: De Molen and Kombolcha have done that tonight. Better than 90% of the beer (by volume) retailing in my local supermarket. F**k the £20 a bottle stuff and get yourself a case of Ethiopian pale lager in for Christmas.

12oz bottle. Pale, filtered, dull tanned-yellow color. Patchy, thin, frothy head retains itself rather well. Doughy inoffensive non-aroma. Not bad, maybe a little conservative on the hops, but otherwise a pretty standard European Lager, which probably tastes that much better in Ethiopia. Sugary, but light enough on the palate, with a simple zesty hop balance. Surprisingly OK.

UPDATED: FEB 17, 2015 Not much to this beer but not bad with spicy Ethiopian food. Other than washing down Doro Watt this doesnít have much going on. Serving: Bottle
