Location: 12 oz bottle from Awash Restaurant (East Village), 2/12/10

Overall Impression: Fairly standard lager. It doesn’t offer much to make it standout, but it is drinkable. I’m now up to 2 total ratings for Ethiopia, both from the same dinner. I liked the other one a touch better just because it was a little different, this one was very standard, and did not have a lot to it.

Jow (2174) - New York, USA - JAN 24, 2010
Second beer of the night while out for Ethiopian in NYC. Pours hazy yellow with a grassy notes, slight acidity, and a little syrupyness. Nothing special but again enjoyable enough to get by with the Ethiopian food

JPDIPSO (4956) - Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA - JAN 17, 2010
Straw color with a wispy white diminishing head. Flour, dough grass and grain aromas. Sweet flavors dominate. light herbal hops help just a little in balancing. Actually fairly dry in the finish. Just a bit of cardboard in the end. Fairly thick feel, but some acidity cuts in at the end. Certainly not the worst pale lager, but still far from the best.

fugitive (1342) - Athens, GREECE - DEC 14, 2009
Bottled 33cl. Clear yellow colour.Small white head. Industrial lager. Not something special. If i know that i’m never gonna drink this beer again it wouldn’t made a difference to me.

italarican (1481) - Winston-Salem, North Carolina, USA - NOV 12, 2009
Pours Budweiser yellow with little white head. Aroma is of grains and a bit of grass/hay. Flavor is a pleasant blend of oats and malt, but the watery nature takes away any depth. A decent run-of-the-mill pale lager.

sneagrams3 (2337) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - NOV 3, 2009
Tasted 10/31/09. 33oml bottle. Filtered with a pale golden hue. Spotty white head. Typical cereal aromas. Light to medium bodied with a bright effervescence and a very crisp palate. Big effervescence with cereal notes and a touch of vanilla sweetness. Finishes crisp with a mild bite. Not too bad, but I preferred the Meta.

Skinnyviking (7069) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - OCT 14, 2009
Bottle. Low but lasting white fluffy head. Clear golden and good looking body. Barley malt aroma with hay and grass notes. Actually more powerful than expected. Furthermore it has a light peppery note. Flavor though is, unfortunately, of a weak and watery barley malt with little hops bitterness although the beer is not exactly sweet. Low carbonation, short afrtertaste.

Embrouille (2827) - SWITZERLAND - SEP 23, 2009
Bottled 33cl. Aroma: Apple, vegetables, potato, marzipan, white sugar and crackers. Sweet and malt accentuated. Appearance: It pours a pale golden beer with a quick diminishing fizzy white head. Some floating impurities. No lacework. Flavor and palate: Flat. Low bitterness. Apple and crackers showing up. Light bodied, grainy and inoffensive. Just a slight metallic finish. Overall impression: A decent pale lager. Better than expected.
