I am not a fan of lagers, but had to try an Ethiopian beer. This was surprisingly not too bad. I didn’t get to take notes on it as was at lunch before a long day in the city. It was a light, crisp beer with a bit of herbal and spice to it. (Mild spice, but for some reason I got a feel of a bit of coriander). Nothing to go out of the way to buy again, but was a decent beer to go with my dinner.

(Bottle) Clear golden with little head. Malt and grain aroma with hint of leather. Some body and modest carbonation. Taste starts with some sweetness, becomes watery in mid palate and develops a little bitterness in finish. Definitely drinkable but not great.

Clear slight darkish golden color with thin foam ring. The smell is malty lagery but not bad. The taste is malty, lagery, not special but quite okay. Little boring aftertaste, but okay.

Not bad at all. Had in a bottle at animal kingdom. Clean with out really any aversive taste.

Bottle at Disney World Animal Kingdom. Golden colored with a whitish head. Sweeter and maltier than the typical pale lager, though not really much different. Light bodied.

It is an acquired taste the International lager type beer. A beer with little taste and a bit too watery, but certainly drinkable and a beer that grows on you.

From a bottle. It was served ice cold which probably didn’t do it any harm, surprisingly good, crisp and fresh, who would have thought Ethiopia is pumping out beer that could stand up to a trip to Australia and still be pretty good. I’m impressed.
