Pale golden pour. Fresh pale malt. Low bitterness but the malt is fairly expressive. Light and simple, but not terribly bland. Softly sweet. It works for what it’s intended.
2.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Powertrip (999) - Calgary, Alberta, CANADA - MAR 1, 2011
Single bottle purchased from Silver Springs Wine & Spirits in Calgary, AB on 02/28/2011. Colour: Dark yellow with medium height but quickly fading and spotty head. Nose: Pear and apricot immediately, yeast develops and then more fruit. Honey late. Taste: Light sweet, light bitter, light sour. Delicate and quiet. Some vanilla notes float about, and even a trace of green olive...but other then that - characterliss. Decent nose led to nothing.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 RichardGretton (4018) - Leicestershire, ENGLAND - FEB 13, 2011
Bottle. Golden beer with a strongish frothy head. The aroma is gently malty, and the flavour is nicely dry witth a hint of yeast. Overall a reasonable lager.
2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 jcr (1946) - Jasper, Indiana, USA - FEB 7, 2011
Bottle. Clear medium yellow with a short, fizzy, white head rapidly diminishing. The aroma is malty sweet with notes of grain and toffee. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and lightly bitter. Medium body, watery texture and moderate carbonation. Not a lot of taste, but there is some bread and corn. Finishes dry. Not terribly offensive, but not a lot to this beer.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 DuffMan (5196) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - DEC 24, 2010
Bottle, as part of a "beers of the World"variety pack. Once again, I’m a sucker and buy an 8-pack of beer that I’ve already had, except for one weird one like this. At least Harviestoun Old Engine Oil was part of the pack too. This poured a standard golden lager with a foamy white cap. Sweet grainy aroma and flavour, light corn. Not bad for a cheapie lager from across the world.
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 presario (4406) - Stampede City, Alberta, CANADA - DEC 9, 2010
Crisp gold. Thin partial white head. Thin light grain scent. Sweet flavour, slightly rough and grainy flavour. You could get used to it in the sun but...
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 DruncanVeasey (6116) - NUNEATON, Blue Square Premier, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - DEC 6, 2010
Bottle, drank chilled and at high speed from the bottle. Looks like a bottle of beer. Honey, crackers and noble hops aroma. Taste of honey, hot metal shavings, baked beans, tablemats. I love it when a brewery turn your prejudices on their head: De Molen and Kombolcha have done that tonight. Better than 90% of the beer (by volume) retailing in my local supermarket. F**k the £20 a bottle stuff and get yourself a case of Ethiopian pale lager in for Christmas.
