Bottle from Casablanca Brasserie 171014. Mt first ever beer from Ethiopia and I must say I was pleasantly surprised. While it doesn’t set the world on fire this beer was much better than I expected.

wheresthepath (1568) - Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - OCT 14, 2014
Bottle at RISC Global Café, Reading. Pours a dull gold with a thin white head and an obvious fizz. Rather watery, although not as bad as some pale lagers. It’s pretty sweet, with sweetcorn up front and a faint sour note. There is a little hop bitterness in the finish, but this adds no particular flavour. Pretty much indistinguishable from all the other cheap mass-produced lagers out there, and equally as grim as most of them. But hey, it’s a tick from Ethiopia!

erickok (3693) - Tours (and Paris), FRANCE - OCT 6, 2014
Very simple golden body and fluffy head. Grainy aroma, hopless, light yeasty perhaps but very light. Watery body, simple bitterness, too highly carbonated. Like yellow water. (Bottle at an Ethiopian restaurant in Brussels)

Poured a pale yellow with aromas of grain and malt. Flavors followed suit, malt and grain, decent in the heat, had this at Animal Kingdom.

Pours a clear golden color, topped with white head. Soon only a small white cover is left. The basic malty and grainy aroma is easy to pick up, slightly skunky as well. The taste is light and watery, slightly sweet. No real bitterness in the finish. No aftertase. Actually, no taste at all.

I had this beer in Bahir Dar when the water where I was staying had typhoid. It was delicious. I have since had it in the United States at an Ethiopian restaurant, and it wasn’t as good as it was in Bahir Dar. I would love to have it again.

330ml bottle @ the Sixth Shrewsbury Bottle Share, June 14, courtesy of me. Picked this up from an Ethiopian restaurant in London. Middle of the road lager, nothing mind-blowing although perfectly drinkable. Bought more for the novelty. Would have again.
