1.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 7/20
Back to back Ethiopian treats. The only real thing that made this good is that the Meta I had before tasted even worse. This one was drinkable at least. Bottle at Zenebech with some excellent food.

1.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 3/20

Bottle from Casablanca Brasserie 171014. Mt first ever beer from Ethiopia and I must say I was pleasantly surprised. While it doesn’t set the world on fire this beer was much better than I expected.

1.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 3/20
Bottle at RISC Global Café, Reading. Pours a dull gold with a thin white head and an obvious fizz. Rather watery, although not as bad as some pale lagers. It’s pretty sweet, with sweetcorn up front and a faint sour note. There is a little hop bitterness in the finish, but this adds no particular flavour. Pretty much indistinguishable from all the other cheap mass-produced lagers out there, and equally as grim as most of them. But hey, it’s a tick from Ethiopia!
