St. George Golden Ale is based on an old British recipe, but with an American twist - a slightly sweet, malty flavor with a citrusy finish. It has a thick, creamy head and is golden amber in color.

Hazy, dark gold. Slightly hoppy, yet smooth. Goes down real easy; a good choice for a session beer.

Bottle. Pours a clear medium amber/gold with a small off-white head that dissipates fairly quickly. Floral and malt aroma. Flavor has slightly bigger bite with a caramely malty forward. Bitter aftertaste. All in all a very drinkable beer.

Total Wine & More, Chantilly 12oz ($2): Pours something darker than golden with a white head. Aroma is citrus hops, but there is a malt backbone. Taste got some bread at the finish, sufficiently bitter hops, and a nice malty feel throughout. Good balance overall. A good unintrusive session with a good body.

Bottle fresh from the brewery. Clear amber-gold color with a medium, foamy, white head and nice lacing. Surprisingly big, perfumey, hop aroma. Pretty bold flavor too with some sweeter malt, pine hops and some molasses. I expected something a little boring from the "Golden Ale" label but this has some character.

Excellent gold coloring for the body, medium ivroy head. Malt accents in the aromas with a strong cirtus flavoring.

Golden orange with a white head. Medium sweetness, light cereal grains, some mid-level citrus and fruity hops. Real nice mouth feel on this. Easy drinking, nice tasting, refreshing. Perfect for warm weather drinking.

Aroma: Nothing unpleasant, but nothing noteworthy, either. Caramel malt with the slightest hint of citrus hops. Appearance: Clear golden color with a minimal white head that quickly disappeared. Taste: Nothing much here--lightly sweet, lightly bitter. Well balanced, but almost to the point of no character. Palate: Medium Body, thick texture with lively carbonation. Slightly bitter finish. Overall: It’s a decent beer, drinkable, but nothing so standout that I’d recommend it to a friend or seek it out over something else.

Deep golden color with a thick off white head. Light bready nose with hints of a citrus hop. Some light fruityness, apple, apricot over a bready malt backbone. Harsh grassy hop finish. Uninteresting pale ale.
