COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
St. George Lager is a sublime balance of subtle maltiness and lingering noble hoppiness. Based on a style of lager called Bavarian Helles, it is pale straw blond in color, but surprisingly full bodied and exhibiting only a low level of hops bitterness or aroma. Only the finest of traditional German Malt and Hops are used in this beer, which create the most delicate beer imaginable.

12 oz bottle. Pours a golden yellow with a thin, half-finger white head. Aroma is almost entirely yeast and malt. Flavor is sweet yeasty malt, almost wheat. Not a great beer. (This rating is a bit abbreviated because Ratebeer didn’t save my original and I had already finished the beer)

Bottle courtesy of dkchmela. Pours gold with a white head. Smells of dry malt, bread, toast. Tastes of caramel, apples, lightly spicy on the finish.

Pours light pale yellow with a fizzy off-white head. The aroma has semi-sweet lager malt, some butter, some bread and hops. Medium body with lightly sharp carbonation. The flavor starts with semi-sweet malt, some staleness and a bit of hops. The finish is a bit hoppy and more sweetness added. This is almost like their pils, but the hops are a bit earthier. Fair.

Bottle courtesy goryshkewych. Aroma is strong with grains and a light diacetyl. Clear straw-colored with a thin white head, steady active carbonation. The flavor is enjoyable and refreshing, a grainy/grassy sweetness well-balanced by a very mild spicy hop finish. Creamy palate, highly drinkable. This is a nice helles that surprised me.

Guest tap at South Street Brewery. Yellowish golden colored with moderate head retention. Grainy pils-like aroma with a very similar taste. Somewhat grassy. Kinda blah.

From dkachur via trade. The pour was gold and slightly cloudy. The head was white, one-finger plus tall and only bits of lacing showed up. The aroma was lots of sweet malt, grass as well as some nice floral and light hoppiness. The flavor was sweet malt, light tart fruit, floral and even some pine hops. Crisp, refreshing and easy drinking. I would definitely keep some of this stuff around as a lawnmower beer if I had access to it.

Hazy gold pour with thin white head. Not much aroma. Crisp dusty taste. Decent lager.

Pours a yellowy bronze, hazy clear with a short lived white head. Aroma is sweet and soft, caster sugar. Taste has light pear and apple, with little to no doughyness and what seems to be a complete absence of hops. Pretty boring, sweet lager.
