COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
St. George Lager is a sublime balance of subtle maltiness and lingering noble hoppiness. Based on a style of lager called Bavarian Helles, it is pale straw blond in color, but surprisingly full bodied and exhibiting only a low level of hops bitterness or aroma. Only the finest of traditional German Malt and Hops are used in this beer, which create the most delicate beer imaginable.

Clear golden appearance with a small, white head. Muted aroma, some maltiness, but a slight vegatal note. Light bodied mouthfeel with fizzy carbonation. Taste is moderately sweet, mildly hopped, grainy, grassy. Clean, dry, short lived finish.

Clean solid beer that is more along the lines of a continental/helles. Crisp and quenching. Nice quaffer that could use more of a Pils malt base.

I thought this one was great. Good bready maltiness with a subdued lager flavor in the background. While it does lose points for clarity, it gains points for a great balance of complexity and drinkability. Yet another victim of ratebeer.com’s biast against light beer. Sure I prefer an IIPA, but judging the style at hand- St. George did well on this one.

Bottle. Pours hazy golden yellow with foamy white head. The aroma is bready malt with some lemon hints and a little bit of butterscotch candy. The flavor is sweet bread, maybe even muffins. There is some lemon and some light piney notes, as well. Clean, but weak finish. I was actually pleasantly surprised with this. I was expecting crap, but it is quite quaffable.

12oz bottle acquired in trade with The_Beer_God (thanks!). Poured a light to medium golden color with an averaged sized white head. Aromas of grass, grain, and light citrus. Tastes of grain, citrus, bread, and grain. Thinner body.

A nice slightly sweet malt aroma, taste is at the start sweet ,with a touch of hop balance, it all disappears into nothingness, like eating cotton candy, the good thing is that there is no off taste, probaly a great lawnmower beer

UPDATED: JAN 22, 2007 Clear yellow. Grassy taste, with very little aroma. Nothing much to it it, pretty blah.
