COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
St. George Lager is a sublime balance of subtle maltiness and lingering noble hoppiness. Based on a style of lager called Bavarian Helles, it is pale straw blond in color, but surprisingly full bodied and exhibiting only a low level of hops bitterness or aroma. Only the finest of traditional German Malt and Hops are used in this beer, which create the most delicate beer imaginable.

Bottle from Immy. Color is a mix of light orange and dark yellow with some lacing. Aroma is present like a burnt lager, must be the malt. Taste is lackluster. Average everywhere around. Dont really get the nature of a beer like these.

Hazy darkish yellow. Malt and nutmeg in the aroma. Fruity, sour palate. Pretty light but pretty good. Very understated. Thanks Ron for the trade!

This beer is alright. It does not have a lot of character, but it is more full than your average macrobrew. Don’t recommend it for the price.

12oz. bottle. Very mild aroma, just some faint toasty grain and vague citric, fruity accents. Light-medium clear golden color with a slight but lasting head. Starts with a light amount of malt sweetness, mingling with some lemon citrus and light breadiness, the finish seeing some fruity hop flavor and a light-moderate amount of bitterness, and drying out somewhat along the way. Palate is effervescent and very lightly acidic, body is light-medium. Seems to sort of come and go all at once, in a way. Certainly non-offensive, however.

Had in the Outer Banks. Pours golden into the glass with a very nice retentive head. The nose was murky, of hops and sours. The flavors were of earthen sweetness and slightly soured citrus notes, backed by an even bitter finish (not much in the "complexity" dept., though). The best part of the brew for me was the very creamy mouthfeel. It was medium-bodied, and overall quite drinkable. There was nothing particularly outstanding that WOW!’d me. This easily sinks any macro, but not my first choice.

Bottle - Clear pale yellow color with very light aroma of hops. Average amount of head. A little bitter on the finish; not one of my favorites from St. George, but still a decent beer.

One bottle from OBX trip. Light aroma of hops as I poured a small head on the beer. Not as crisp as I expected it to be. Some hops with a slightly bitter ending. Average

Had this one bottled in Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina. A pretty typical lager, but, as with everything else from this brewery, it’s distinctive. Pale yellow clear pour, slightly sweet, hoppiness in the finish. Good.
