St. George Oktoberfest is a classic German style with roasted malt and caramel flavors balanced by a mild hop bitterness. This beer was traditionally served at the start of fall in celebration of the harvests. Our Oktoberfest is pale copper-color lager. It pairs well with warm pretzels and lederhosen.

12oz bottle fresh from the brewery. Pours a pretty classic, clear copper color with a small white head and nice lacing. Aroma is chalk dust, corn tortillas and a little sweet malt. Medium bodied. Flavor is really light and kinda boring.

Draft @ Brews ’n Blues fest in Gloucester VA: Lightly toasted barley malt and dried leaves aroma, with hints of spice, perhaps cloves. Clear dark amber thin head, decent lacing. Barley malt, dried leaves, potpourri flavor. Medium body, maybe a touch too much for the style but still ok. More bitter in the end than most Octoberfests. Quite similar to the Fall Bock I’m told it is replacing in the brewer’s seasonal offerings. This beer was very popular at the event where I was a volunteer.

Pours a very clear amber with small tight carbonation bubbles and a nice off-white head that stays around and laces as the beer disappears. Smells malty with some caramel and some breadiness, along with a hint of spicey hops. Medium body, good carbonation, and a somewhat bitter finish and dry. Tastes nicely malty, sweet malts and some bread with hints of spicey hops. Dry in the finish
