3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Cletus (6025) - Connecticut, USA - NOV 16, 2008
Bottle courtesy of dkachur. Pours gold with a white head. Smells of apples, dry malt. Tastes of dry malt, pepper, light spice. Decent for what it is.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Peregrinari (136) - Washington, Washington DC, USA - NOV 2, 2008
Not a bad pilsner at all. Sharp aroma with hops and mild yeast. Appearance is clear golden. Flavor is a bit tart with hops and mild bread. Palate is initial bread with a nice bitter hop on the sides of the tongue followed by a slight bitter and mildly salty back of the tongue experience. My overall of this one is that it is a nice Pilz with a solid drinkable quality. I would purchase again.
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 vyvvy (2798) - Florissant, Missouri, USA - OCT 8, 2008
Pours yellow with a soapy off-white head. The aroma is soapy and buttery pale malt, slight toast and a hint of spicy hops. Medium light body with typical semi-sharp carbonation. The flavor starts with sweet lager malt and some butter (not as much as the aroma). The finish adds some spicy hops and lots more sweetness. This is okay, but far sweeter than I like for my pils.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 MrChopin (2065) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - AUG 12, 2008
I think I’m falling for pilsners. Cloudy, bubbly gold with moderate white head, nice lacing. Scent is honey hop citrus with musty fresh-cut grass. Flavor is nice, bread malt with lots of hop bitter and slight citrus. Nice, full but crisp body. Nice pilsner. Nice beer. Give me another!
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20 Drake (4803) - Charlottesville, Virginia, USA - JUN 29, 2008
Bottle from a dragon pack sampler from Whole Foods Charlottesville. Hazy orange pout with a good sized head. Moderate retention and lacing. Very grainy, almost malty aroma is getting close to a dark lager. Taste has hop bitterness up front, then some grain and grass.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 Soonah (1120) - Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA - JUN 23, 2008
From dkachur via trade. Slightly hazy golden color with a scant white head with some active carbonation and spots of lacing. The aroma was malt and grass without the expected Saaz hop bite/spice to it. The flavor was the same. Not much going on in the hop department. The mouthfeel was thin and it was somewhat refreshing, just can’t remember a more uneventful beer.
2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 nick76 (3461) - Tampa, Florida, USA - MAY 31, 2008
The aroma is piny and grassy with flowers and corn malt. The appearance is deep gold and surprisingly hazed. The flavor is paper like with all the elements from the aroma. The palate is average. Overall not great but not poor quality either. However, it is an odd pilsner.
2.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 Butters (2848) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - MAY 19, 2008
Pours a slightly hazy straw color with dissipating white head. Nose of butter. Slight floral hoppiness. Not a great pils, but far from horrible. Very drinkable.
