COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
St. George Pilsner is a clean, crisp lager based on our brew master’s extensive brewing experience in northern Germany. A centuries-old conditioning process and a unique lager yeast require a much longer processing time than our standard ales and result in an exceptionally smooth beer. Traditional 2 Row Pale and Munich Malts along with noble German Hops ensure a well-balanced, pale golden lager with a fine creamy head. Prost!

I received this as a gift at RBSG 07, but I’m embarrassed to say I can’t remember from who. There is no other explanation for the low scores besides general dislike of pilsners, no matter how high the quality. And as someone who likes pilsners, this one is excellent. Full aroma with saaz hops, sweet malt, and yeast. Flavor is lightly bitter an fairly well hopped, but there is also malt and considerable yeast. Some very light grass and a little salt. Well carbonated, and a copper color. Outstanding.

Columbia, SC - Green’s Discount Beverage - 12 oz bottle - part of a mixer 6 pack. Murky medium orange pour, fluffy but thin white head. Yeasty aroma with some grassy notes. Flavor is a tad muddled with some yeasty notes, a hint of cake mix sweetness and some doughiness. Mouthfeel is leaning to the thick side. Not the highlight of this brewer thus far.

Draft: Grass and hay aroma. Golden color, thin head. Hoppy flavor, modearately floral with hay, decently balanced. Subdued hop finish. Clean and balanced.

Dark golden, almost copper with a medium white head. Grainy and surprisingly malty-caramel-like nose, kind of weird. Flavor of heavy caramel, bread, graininess and ends with some earthy, lemon hop character. Moderately sweet with enough bitterness to provide balance. Medium bodied with lively carbonation. Doesn’t taste bad but there’s too much caramel presence, odd.

Bottled - Pours your typical gold with a light ruby highlight....Nose is a little hops with a malt background... Upfront i got a very candy like taste.. almost liquorish.. then as it warmed... hops with a little bit of honey.. rather sweet..

12 oz bottle. Pour clear golden yellow color with small white head. Aroma of hops and malt. Taste of malt and grain. Average Pilsener.

Bottle. Pours hazy orange-yellow with tidy white head and lots of carbonation. The aroma is spicy and hay-like, with a hint of wet leaves. The flavor has a crisp hoppiness over malt that reminds me of orange marmelade spread on toast. Clean, crisp finish. Quite quaffable.

(bottle 12oz) Clear amber-gold body with big white head and good lacing. Citrus-fruity, hop nose with malt. Flavor is hop-bitter with a touch of sweetness; lots of citrus peel and some grass. Medium- to full-bodied with dry finish. Very good pilsner.
