COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
St. George Porter weaves a complex tapestry of flavors in a black, ruby colored ale. A rich malt base, typical of St. George Ales, results in caramel and chocolate tones, classically balanced with English bittering and aromatic hops.

YURM... delicious porter. Terrific in all the right spots. I could glady put down a few of these on any given night. If that night was cold and snowy and I was sitting by a warm fire.

Poured a watery black with brown hues with a thick and creamy white head. Astringent aroma, no hop or roasted aroma to speak of. Flavor of strong roasted malt, oaky and smokey. Finishes with a coffee flavor. As far as porters go, this one isn’t great.

Dark color. Smell of chocolate, coffee, malt and hops. Tastes very waterdown with some hops, coffee, malt, and chocolate. A roasted bitterness at the end that lingers for a little bit. It could be a little richer in flavor.

Dark Brown color with brown head. Dark chocolate aroma and taste with the dark chocolate bitterness. Porters are not my favor style.

Pours a nearly opaque with dark brown hues and a thin ring of tan head. Aroma of sweet caramely malt, some butterscotchy diacetyl and strong roasted notes. Body starts with a light earthy caramel sweetness and spritzy carbonation revealing lots of dark chocolate and some molasses before a more bitter roasty finish. Fairly true to style, but could use a touch more sweetness and body.

Bottle. Dark reddish brown colour with a weak head. Lovely aroma of chocolate and roastedness. Also in the flavour, ends up light and tasty.

Clear dark brown body with thin tan head. Thick raisin malt aroma. A surprisingly dry taste, roasted malt, worth rolling about in the mouth.

From notes: Bottle courtesy of Immy. Pours black with some brown tinges. A bit of lacing. Aroma is very present - thoroughly enjoyable - mainly chocolate roast. A nice presence of butterscotch. Taste is lighter and watered down compared to the great aroma. A bit of bitterness at the end.
