COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
St. George Porter weaves a complex tapestry of flavors in a black, ruby colored ale. A rich malt base, typical of St. George Ales, results in caramel and chocolate tones, classically balanced with English bittering and aromatic hops.

Bottle split with pat and vinny. Pours a dark brownish black body with brown lacing. Aroma is nice chocolate roast and offer. Mouthfeel is thin with delicious notes of roasted and toasted chocolate malts.

12oz bottle via trade thanks to billab914. Pours blacker than most porters, with a lasting 1.4 finger tan head and some lacing. Aroma is big, rich malts. Chocolate and anise stand out. The flavor is really solid. Big-time anise and molasses, dark and milk chocolate, and sharp roast. Roasty dryness on the palate, and fairly thick for a 5-percenter. Surprisingly good beer. Will have to check out more of these guys’ lineup.

Dark beer with ruby highlights when held against the light. Thin beige head. Caramel sweet nose with some roast grains and milk chocolate. The beer has caramel and burnt sugar sweetness with some roasted grains, ash and molassess. The finish is of dying campfire with some grassy hops. Not a bad porter.

From the tap poured a dark brown color with a fair amount of head. Toasted malty flavor with a lingering aftertaste.

Bottle from the Dragon Pack sampler. Pours a very dark brown body with a medium tan head. Body appears clear chestnut with some garnet hints when held to light. Aroma is mostly milk chocolate, with hints of nuttiness, earthy hops and coffee. Taste has caramel and milk chocolate fronting the dominant malt character. Earthy hop bitterness balances very well. Just a faint hint of dark roast malt. Enjoyable porter.

In bottles from 2010 batch. Superior aroma, taste and appearance. Coffee-dark color with 1 finger rich tan head, though it quickly dissipates. Among or perhaps the best porter I’ve tasted.

Pours a ruby-brown, with a quickly dissipating tan head. Aroma is mocha, chocolate, and malty. Flavor is roasted malts & coffee. There is also a lot of dark chocolate that turns bitter as the finish approaches, which is dry. A very well balanced porter!
