Black pour with tan head and lace. Aroma of chocoffee dominates. Light chocolaty flavor with a light sour. Thin watery and foamy. If this beer had tasted as good as it smelled it would have been a homerun.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 FROTHINGSLOSH (3205) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 26, 2009
This beer was brought to me by a friend who had traveled out of state. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a black color with a medium sized creamy dark brown head. The aroma was tangy, sour, malty and lightly roasty. The flavor was dry, roasty and lightly bitter with a hint of weak coffee, a touch of wood and a smoky undertone. The finish was dry, woody, smoky and roasty. Decent.

My Million Beer March Tasting. Sample from a bottle thanks to nearbeer. Dark dark brown with a thin tan head. Aroma is chocolate, vanilla and licorice. Roasty. Taste is a bit vegetal, then big licorice, vanilla sweetness, some molasses, chocolate and roasted malt.
3.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Suttree (3766) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - MAR 23, 2009
This seemed like the aroma was a lot better than the flavor. The aroma was coffee and vanilla and burnt toast. The flavor was the same, but not the intensity suggested by the aroma. Still, a tasty and enjoyable brew.
3.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 arrogantb (899) - Denver, Colorado, USA - FEB 26, 2009
12oz bottle courtesy of Dyan, thanks! I have never even heard of this brewery but I was impressed by this beer. Dark brown-black color with a nice coffee-latte colored head. The smell was my favorite part, roasted chocolate malted. The flavor deviates slightly from the aroma but is still in solid porter territory. Easy to drink, try it if you get a chance.

4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20 nearbeer (2572) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - FEB 23, 2009
12 oz. Opaque with a lasting quarter-inch of creamy foam. Smells of earthy chocolate, caramel, light apple and sour cream. Flavor is a great blend of all, plus some ash and char on the finish to dry the big malt. Medium-heavy body is smoothly carbonated, lightly prickly on the tongue and drinkably chewy. Nice soapy lacing. Great American homage to the traditional British style.
