22nd May 2010. ChrisOs ’Blue Ridge Mountains Of Virginia’ tasting! Opaque black stout. Almost no head. Light soft palate. Dark unsweet chocolate with a whisper of paint that detracts from the otherwise good flavour. Finishes light and malty and warming.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle thanks to Jcwattsrugger. Bottle. Russian Imperial Stout label. Pours black with tan head. Nose of pinot grape, roasted malts, cherry smoke and chocolate. Taste of same. More porter than stout. A bit hoppy and earthy for an imperial.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle shared by alexsdad06. Poured a dark brown color with a moderate to large frothy brown head that lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy toasted chocolate, dark grape skin aroma. Medium to heavy bittersweet toasted malt and tannic flavor with a medium to heavy sweet finish of moderate to long duration. Full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. This is a very good complex beer.
