St. George Spring Lager is a classical example of what many consider to be the original lager beer. Amber-colored and medium bodied with a rich, roasted malt character this beer has a smooth, slightly sweet malt flavor with traditional German hops providing a noble, perfectly-balanced hop bitterness. A slightly fruity, dry finish tops off this style as does a thick, creamy white head.

As luck would have it!! At my local Navy package store, I grab the last dragon pack and low and behold, the only St George brew I have not sampled. Pours a golden amber, average head, thick lacing. Nutty caramel sweet malt aroma, notes of pancake syrup. Bitter malt flavor, thick body, semi dry, nutty and honey notes. Earthy finish.

Tangy malty lager aroma, malt beginning with a zingey spicey hop finish, Slight sweetness in the aftertaste. Tastey enough to be above a lawnmower brew

Puored from a 12oz bottle a dark amber with a beige head. I had floral/grassy hops in the nose. The same grassy hops were in the flavor with a touch of sweet malts.

This one pours amber and smells sweet. The taste is malty without too much caramel or roasty flavor, perhaps comparable to Yuengling in that regard, but with a more assertive hop presence. It is medium bodied, crisp, and short on the finish. Very refreshing and easy to pair with food.

A surprise hoppiness hit me when I opened the bottle. Slight fruityness to the aroma that almost had a hint of berries. Taste was similar but was rounded out by a malty backbone. I hope to see this in 6-packs as I could easily drink a few in one sitting and not tire of it one bit!

Pours a clear-copper, with a small beige head. Aroma of toasted malts and bread. Flavor is very earthy with malts and grain. Finishes, with a mild bitterness, and very clean.

Roasted malt and some bread aroma. Copper or amber in color with one finger of head. Malt, some tangyness, bitters and some kind of after taste. A little watery. OK beer

Best of the St George I have had so far. Clear copper with light head and not much lace. Fruity smell and just enough hops to remind your tongue who is in charge. I liked it.

Bottle - Clear caramel color with fair amount of head. LIght aroma and balanced taste which is slightly sweet on the finish. Preferred this brew over the St George Lager.
