COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
St. George Nut Brown Ale is a classic English-style Brown Ale with flavors reminiscent of biscuit and caramel that is well balanced by a mild hop character. This beer was traditionally served in taverns as their house beer. Our Nut Brown Ale is light brown in color with a thick creamy head.

Overall would rate a better beer if it were an amber or a light brown ale. It is very very light in flavor and color for a brown ale and also lacks nut brown qualities, especially in the nose. On the plus side, does have more flavor than the average amber but retains the "drinkability" of a lighter beer.

Good offering from St George. Poured from a bottle. Nice caramel color (preview of things to come). Not the thick head promised in the description. Creamy although no lacing. Slightly bitter on the finish.

3/28/14. 12oz bottle in a free beer week box thanks to dfhhead! Clear light brown pour with a very small tan head that fades to a ring and laces just barely throughout the glass. Nice aroma, nutty, biscuit, a touch of chocolate - reminds me of Fat Tire in a way. Not bad. The aroma disappoints a touch, sweet, malty, nutty, doughy, biscuits, a touch of caramel and butterscotch. Meh.

Keg @ Beer Run. The pour’s medium brown with a small head. The nose is of baked apple, toasted brown bread. Roasted nuts. The taste is a bit more objectionable. Lactic sourness. Quite buttery too. Bitter apples. Medium body, moderate carbonation. Not good.

Sample at the tap room (as Nut Brown Ale). The beer is a dark brown color with a medium tan head that recedes steadily. Strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted nuts, malt and mild hops. Light-bodied with flavors of roasted malt, nuts and hops. The finish is sweet with a grainy and nutty aftertaste. Decent overall.
