3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
(bottle) Clear, golden colour with a blond and fluffy foamy head. Moderately sweet and bready malty aroma with present grassy and herbal hoppy notes. Moderately sweet and slightly bitter flavour, medium to light bodied with a moderate carbonation. Slightly bready malty taste with grassy and slightly herbal accents from the beginning, turning into a bitter sweet and bitter slightly grassy hoppy finish. Not overly complex nor exciting and definitely not identical to the toasty Drachenblut. 17.XII.11

Bottle from Zly Casy, Prague. Clear golden beer with a small offwhite head. Bready aroma, hay, a bit strange. Hoppy bitter flavor at first, bready, biscuits, a bit sourish. Not a top beer at all. Hoppy grassy finish, somewhat sourish and with bready notes.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
500 ml swing top bottle, bought in Germany as Zimbus’ Drachenblut. Poured into an english pint glass, ABV 5,6%.
Deep amber in colour, with two fingers of thick, beige head. Good retention and nice lacing left around the glass.
Faint smell of caramel and a bit of roasted malts on the background.
Nice sweet taste at first, becomes quite blunt and boring on the aftertaste, although with a nice bitterness, coming from roasted malts. Some caramel again and kinda metallic.
Light to medium thin body, average carbonation.
Not bad, indifferent though.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle shared with McTapps. Interesting one with a taste, look and smell between an ale and a bock. Hops in the nose is great but no carbo makes it a bit dull.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle bought as "Zimbus Drachenblut - das Ritterbier". deep amber-brown in colour with absolutely no head and no carbonation. Looks like an Ale. Taste of nuts, rich malt, mild hops and roasted grains. Easy to drink and it comes very close to an Ale.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
draft at St Georgen Brau in Buttenheim
clear amber-honey body with a small white head. clean nose with rich toffee, nuts, sweet caramel syrup and touches of cooked corn; light to medium mineral levels; clean yeast presence in the nose. nutty, toasty, cracker-like, a bit powdery, sweet, sticky, I could be convinced it was somewhere between heller and dunkler bock, both from the sweetness and the mild touch of ethanol. carbonation is nicely frothy and round and the malt is mostly smooth and the sweetness level well-suited for the body.
