Dirty orange and quite cloudy. Nose is a little abrupt with some strong spice and corriander notes. More of the spice in the mouth with some noticable bitterness and sour notes. Does feel a little clumsy to be honest and some overt alcohol heat doesn’t help. Interestingly I picked this up for $3.75 at a competitor which gives me some confidence I can sell for close to $3.25, so in the Oz market good value for the style.

Alengrin (2813) - BELGIUM - OCT 12, 2014
Authentic abbey beer, usually served in a stone bowl. Fruity, malt sweet, with spicy yeastiness and mild grassy hop bitter finish. Cliché but not bad. Taken over from Damy in 1994, like the other Sint-Idesbalds.
