Deep amber color, toasty toffee/caramel nose, with layers of soft malt and hops. A big beer without being heavy. Extremely well balanced. Brewed under license of the Duinen Monestary by the family owned Huyghe-Melle Brewery.

A good dubbel to hit for my 50th. Makes me feel like retirement. Pours cloudy brown with decent head and lacing. Light florals with light elements of plum and prune.

Bottle @home. Pours red/brown with off-white foam. Fruity, spicy aroma. Taste has a little sourness, watery, bit metallic. Easy to drink, but forgettable.

Flaske, 33 cl. Tørrede frugter i spandevis. Svesker. Dadler. Gær. Malt. Smager faktisk ok. - i små doser. Sød men i god balance.

33 cL bottle into an Affligem glass. Very dark brown with a fair head. Fruity, spiced aroma. Spiced, fruity, different. Sort of an abbey bitter. Very sweet, with a slight sourness. Quite good in its own way.

Aroma: Raisin, chocolate, port, rich maltiness, caramel, Appearance: Hazy ruby body. Small light-brown, long lasting head. Lacing. With floaters. Flavour: Rich maltiness, dry, hoppy, Medium-high bitterness. Medium-sweetness, raisin, Palate: Medium bodied, Slick, highly carbonated. Light alcohol warming. Overall: Enjoyable, malty. The floaters are off-putting. 330 ml bottle, poured. 18B. Belgian Dubbel
