Deep amber color, toasty toffee/caramel nose, with layers of soft malt and hops. A big beer without being heavy. Extremely well balanced. Brewed under license of the Duinen Monestary by the family owned Huyghe-Melle Brewery.

UPDATED: MAR 17, 2016 A brown beer with nothing much to say about. A little bit acid. Not much of a character.

330ml bottle. Clear dark brown color. Massive, beige head, stays. Caramel, sweet, fruity, red orange in aroma. Sweetish, fruity, dead yeast, toffee in taste. Medium carbonation. Dry mouthfeel.

dark mahogany colour, huge, creamy beige head; aroma of dried fruits (raisin, plum, maybe some figs), some caramel, wild yeasty sourness and red wine-ish notes; taste of fruity-yeasty sourness, red wine notes again, hints of roasted notes and sugary-dried fruity (plum) sweetness; interesting Dubbel

Authentic abbey beer with bronze colour and light beige head. Fruity and caramelly sweet profile, yeasty, medium hop bitterishness. Like the other Sint-Idesbalds: true to the style and not bad.

330 ml bottle. Very dark amber, pretty clear, with a huge and bubbly off white head which dissipated rather quickly. On the nose dark fruits, burnt caramel, mild milk chocolate, light herbs/spices, some alchool notes. Well, I’m not surprised, but that’s 4 out of 4 way too over carbonated St, Idesbald beers. Slightly sour, quite sweet and malty. Some brown sugar and light chocolate in the aftertaste. Lively to fizzy carbonation, light to medium body, oily texture. Not entirely bad after 15-20 minutes in the glass, as the fizziness become way lower.

Non mi aspettavo molto, ed invece la nostra si rivela particolarmente bevibile. Aspetto, naso e sapore tutto nella norma dello stile.

(St. Idesbald Dubbel) Bottle 330 ml at home, poured into a tulip glass. ABV 8% Brown colour on the body with deep ruby shades when hold against the light. Tall and thin beige head, with okay retention, leaving spots of lacing on the glass. Aroma of caramel, dark fruits, chocolate, sour touches. Very sour taste, I think something is wrong here. Sour grapes, hints f chocolate. Medium body, very high carbonation. Not a good one, totally not what I expected from a dubbel.
