Bottle, bought @ brygshoppen.dk.
Pours deep, red-brown with a big, creamy, off-white head. Aroma is dried fruits, light chocolate, raisins and caramel. Fine, creamy mouthfeel. Flavour is softly yeasty, finely roasted, sweet chocolate, great balance, raisins, plums. Nice.

Bottled(330ml). -Reddish/brown coloured, medium sized tan head, light caramel nose. Malty and caramel taste with fruity, toffee and dried fruit notes. Sweetish finish but all in all this is quite weak abbey dubble.

750ml white bottle, bought at Cloverleafs, cork labeled ’2004’, poured into Gouden Carolus chalice and a tulip glasses, pours a cloudy and/or hazy brown with some rusty red into a tulip and pours a hazy reddish brown into a chalice glass, I thought this ale looked better in the chalice plus you could see the effervesence bubbling up, the tulip was too cloudy to see what was going on, a good size off-white tannish head with lots of effervescence that thinned to a covering, nice bubbly lacing, aroma of raisins, sweet malt, some dark bread and prunes, faint chocolate, caramel and yeast fragrances, taste of sweet malt, dark bread and caramel with some faint chocolate and brown sugar flavors, has some bitterness at the finish but some malt sweetness is left on the palate at the finish, has a sweet finish and not as dry as some other Dubbels, may be a bit light on the malt flavor compared to other Dubbels I have had, I could sense the alcohol when the ale reached room temperature but it stays pretty much in the background and does not dominate which is a good thing, the bitterness at the finish was sort of minimal, maybe this has aged to a point that the bitterness has been diminished? Light to medium mouth feel, felt a little watery on the palate, I thought the carbonation could have been a little more pronounced to add some fizziness to the drink, the nose is pretty good but the flavors disappoint just a little bit, a good Dubble ale.
