Rich golden colour, fruity aroma and a soft, sweet maltiness. Lively mouthfeel with a finish reminiscent of brut champagne. Brewed under license of the Duinen Monastery by the family owned Huyghe-Melle Brewery.

33 cl bottle. Yeast at the bottom. Golden/amber colour with a huge fizzy head. Yeasty aroma with notes of malt, spices and quite sweet. Very tasty tripel with notes of yeast, spices, alcohol. Ends up with a little sour finish, very well made.

Bottled 330ml. -from Svijet Piva Zagreb. Clear golden coloured, medium sized creamy white head that lasts for a while, fruity spicy nose. Sweet malty, yeasty, fruity and spicy with also light spicy and hoppy notes in the finish. Pretty ordinary tripel.

Pours a fairly clear pale golden color, topped with lots of white head and heavy carbonation. Mild fruity aroma, some yeasty notes. Taste quite yeasty, with some earthy notes later on and some fruity in the finish. Not exactly the best, but not completely bad.

Bottle. Pale golden body, tall to medium head. Nice bready Tripel aroma. Sweet yeasty taste with white bread and dull apricots. Carbonation is very high, makes it fizzy and difficult to drink. Average Abbey Tripel, it has its moments and I like that it wasn’t cloying.

0,33L bottle (from Wine of Galilee), BB 07.17. Pours Clear golden with off-white head. The head stays. Aroma is sweet, fresh fruits, yeast. Flavor is very sweet, fruits, yeast, malt, very mild bitterness. Alcohol is well covered. Overall: ok brew. No notable hops, so I would say it’s actually more Belgian strong ale than tripel for me.

Bottle from a trade with Douberd. Pours clear golden with a big creamy white head. Aroma is light fruity, with moderate sweet malts and sugars. Lively spritzy mouthfeel. Taste is light sweet, sugars, marzipan with a decent dry grassy finish, weak burn from the alcohol. Not my favourite style, but this one was enjoyable.

330ml bottle. Pale golden color. Small size, white head, stays. Fruity, bit of dead yeast, white pepper, slightly sour notes in aroma. Caramel, yeast, dried apricot, slight notes of pineapple and alcohol in taste. High carbonation. Sweet alcohol in aftertaste. Dry mouthfeel. Drinkability: pathetic.

Authentic abbey tripel, taken over from Damy in 1994. A well-balanced but very stereotypical, golden blond tripel with estery fruitiness, sweet and soft maltiness, yeasty, with warming alcohol and some herbal hop bitterness in the finish. One of the somewhat better Huyghe beers, in my opinion.

(St. Idesbald Triple) Bottle 330 ml at home, poured into a tulip glass, ABV 9% Bright golden yellow colour on the body, crystal clear, with a tall and thick white head on top. Very good retention, medium lacing on the glass. Aroma is a bit faint, with fruity notes, grass, malt, a bit of sugar. Taste is of malts, sugars, peaches, apricots, notable alcohol, some grass. Medium body, nicely carbonated. Pleasantly drinkable beer.
