Commercial Description:
The inspiration for Virgin Islands Pale Ale came when the beer's creators, Kevin Chipman and Chirag 'Cheech' Vyas, began home brewing on the island of St. John. Unsatisfied with the choices of mass produced, bland, watered down beer, the two set out to brew ales that had smoother flavors and a distinct hop finish. After brewing several batches of quality American and European style beers they developed a recipe that captured the essence and taste of the Caribbean. The finished brew, a light ale with a subtle exotic fruit nose and mild hop finish, is the ideal flavor for our tropical climate. Virgin Islands Pale Ale was born. Having created a perfect island ale recipe, the two would like to share their new brew with the Virgin Islands and its visitors. Whether you are enjoying a sunset, celebrating an island happy hour, or having a relaxing dinner, Virgin Islands Pale Ale is the refreshing beer to enjoy any moment.

This golden ale poured with a fluffy white head and a floral aroma. If this was intended to replace "watered down beer, " they surely didn’t succeed - it’s so thin you can see through it. There is a slight fruit flavor (mango?) and a slightly bitter hop finish, the key word being "slight."

From the bottle on my honeymoon: hint of mango? Pretty much all I could taste was the mango. If they are the only two options, go for the Blackbeard.

This a very pourly brewed pale ale. It has a very fast dissapearing head and a cloudy pale orange, amber color to it. It has a very floral and fruity smell with mild hops. As you drink it you expect something very complex yet you are sadly mistaken. It is very fruity with apricot and mango. The palate fades rather quickly leaving a nasty fruit flavor there.

Bottle from BevMo. Aroma is like a skunked lager somewhat masked by fruitiness. Somewhat refreshing when consumed really cold. Somewhat grainy and bitter with fairly strong fruit character.
