COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The inspiration for Virgin Islands Pale Ale came when the beer’s creators, Kevin Chipman and Chirag ’Cheech’ Vyas, began home brewing on the island of St. John. Unsatisfied with the choices of mass produced, bland, watered down beer, the two set out to brew ales that had smoother flavors and a distinct hop finish. After brewing several batches of quality American and European style beers they developed a recipe that captured the essence and taste of the Caribbean. The finished brew, a light ale with a subtle exotic fruit nose and mild hop finish, is the ideal flavor for our tropical climate. Virgin Islands Pale Ale was born. Having created a perfect island ale recipe, the two would like to share their new brew with the Virgin Islands and its visitors. Whether you are enjoying a sunset, celebrating an island happy hour, or having a relaxing dinner, Virgin Islands Pale Ale is the refreshing beer to enjoy any moment.

OK first off, I like mangoes. Salads, smoothies & lassies, salsa, coulis, you name it. But mango beer?? I knew this would be awful but I was drawn to it like a car accident you can’t look away from. don’t ask me why. the body is pale golden and mostly clear, the head is thick foamy white. the aroma is apricots that never sweetened, dried straw/grass, pale malts, and stale tropical fruit lifesavers. flavor is grainy, skunky pale lager malts, dry grassy apricots that were left refridgerated until they lost all good taste. Mangoes never taste this wrong. watery mouthfeel, finish is artificial banana and perfume, mostly dry. drink at your own risk!

Pours Amber and clear with almost no head. Not a very clear aroma, not much except the mango is present. Taste is pleasant and refreshing, the mango is very bright but not overpowering. The finish is slightly bitter and the hops finally show themselves. A refreshing beer which I'd buy again.

Golden with rimming white head; aroma is fruity mango/melon; Flava is my and slightly fruity blended with fresh grainy wheatiness; feels light semi fizzy; finishes dry with tangy fruity notes and malty grainy dryness.

Pours a clear amber with barely any head. Smells of mango, biscuit. Taste is very sweet mildly bitter - a lot of mango, some bready malt - whatever hops are not mixing well.

From bottle, courtesy of Frank. Mango, peach, mushrooms with light fruity sweetness. Pale golden clear with thin head. Medium body with medium-light carbonation. Moderately sweet with fruity notes, light mango but mostly fake peach notes. Hop bitterness. Unpleasant balance between fruity sweetness and hop bitterness. Dry bitter harsh after.

It is hard for me to rate a beer this low when I love the tap room on St. John. The beer isn’t bad by any means. It has a crisp taste of fruit, but is a little dry for a fruity beer. This brewery has some very good beers and even though this is the staple, it is just ok for me. However, it tastes better than any of the other beers in the Caribbean and I have been to 10 different islands. Cheers!

12 ounce bottle at World of Beer Dadeland in Miami. Pours a light gold with a small white head. Aroma of tropical fruit. Taste is tropical fruit. Sweet with a pertfume like taste. Had much worse from this part of the world.

12oz bottle 1/29/14 (St. Thomas)-Pours orange with a small white head. Aroma of mango, malt, and slight hops. Taste of mango and weirdness. This light bodied brew had a lot of nothing going on but did fill a need in the hot sun.

Gold pour some head. Strong aroma of mango. Tastes strongly of mango essence. Not very sweet: good. Dry for a fruit beer.

Golden pour with a small white head. Aroma bursting with mango and tropical fruit. Smells awesome! The flavor does not follow. Flowers and fake mango....what a mess. Not enjoyable at all. Light body and crap flavor. Drain!
