The inspiration for Virgin Islands Pale Ale came when the beer’s creators, Kevin Chipman and Chirag ’Cheech’ Vyas, began home brewing on the island of St. John. Unsatisfied with the choices of mass produced, bland, watered down beer, the two set out to brew ales that had smoother flavors and a distinct hop finish. After brewing several batches of quality American and European style beers they developed a recipe that captured the essence and taste of the Caribbean. The finished brew, a light ale with a subtle exotic fruit nose and mild hop finish, is the ideal flavor for our tropical climate. Virgin Islands Pale Ale was born. Having created a perfect island ale recipe, the two would like to share their new brew with the Virgin Islands and its visitors. Whether you are enjoying a sunset, celebrating an island happy hour, or having a relaxing dinner, Virgin Islands Pale Ale is the refreshing beer to enjoy any moment.

OK first off, I like mangoes. Salads, smoothies & lassies, salsa, coulis, you name it. But mango beer?? I knew this would be awful but I was drawn to it like a car accident you can’t look away from. don’t ask me why. the body is pale golden and mostly clear, the head is thick foamy white. the aroma is apricots that never sweetened, dried straw/grass, pale malts, and stale tropical fruit lifesavers. flavor is grainy, skunky pale lager malts, dry grassy apricots that were left refridgerated until they lost all good taste. Mangoes never taste this wrong. watery mouthfeel, finish is artificial banana and perfume, mostly dry. drink at your own risk!

Ugh. Tastes like mango juice concentrate gone bad. Maybe if I was in the Virgin Islands and not in Massachusetts in March this would taste better.

Bottle, picked up at Total Wine for country tick #94. Pours crystal clear orange, very small off-white head, dissipates quickly, some lacing. Aroma is mango, floral notes, perfume. Flavor is medium sweet, light bitter, strong perfume and floral notes. Lightish body. Meh with a capital M.

Bottle. Pours light yellow with very light head yet super carbonation. Heavy mango aroma? Smooth Caribbean beach beer with mango flavor but lager finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from ABC Orlando mostly for the country tick. Straight from the bottle. The aroma is actually nice with gentle mango notes. Really the flavor is nice too. Sweeter mango notes up from and then a lightly bitter finish. No clue if they use real mango or not, but nothing tastes "chemically" or fake. Pleasant surprise.

Bottle thanks to the hoff's recent vacation. Light yellow with a white head. Smells like straight peach nectar. Fake fruit, dry and gross.

Bottle. Pours golden yellow with a thin white head. Aroma of sweet mango. Flavor was quite sweet with rich mango, grains, tropical fruit and had a slight bitterness with a dry finish.

Pours Amber and clear with almost no head. Not a very clear aroma, not much except the mango is present. Taste is pleasant and refreshing, the mango is very bright but not overpowering. The finish is slightly bitter and the hops finally show themselves. A refreshing beer which I'd buy again.
