couchand (128), West Amana, Iowa, USA Mar 17, 2008 Sweet, but also tangy.
Serious cassis notes.
Pinkish purple head.
Light, fruity aroma. SHIG (1375), Oberoffligen, Germany Dec 19, 2007 Bottle: Poured a dark purpleish red with a small grape color head. Dark berry aroma toward black berry. Tart berry flavor with acid tingle. Gusler (2656), Tucson, Arizona, USA Oct 30, 2007 The beer pours from the 340ml bottle deep reddish purple with a modest pinkish purple creamy head, lace a thin veil. The aroma of the berries sweet mixed with a malt greets you first, then I liken it to sour mash, I think the moonshiners in the audience would understand my description, or if you ever worked on a farm with swine, the four legged kind! Lol
Start is sweet at the front, with the tartness at the back, dry as they come, top is light to middling in feel. Finish as a ferine acidity, the black currants continue to the parched semi-sweet aftertaste, a decent Lambic, but I have had better.
tomthompson89 (1043), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Mar 24, 2007 dark ruby purple colour, head is big slightly purple and laced nicely, nice tart flavour which surprised me, not sour enough for a real lambic. MiP (4744), Flensburg, Germany Jan 31, 2007 Bottle. Very sweet Ribena aroma. Very dark red/purple colour. The flavour is of blackcurrant with a citric edge. Not bad.
