Schmecken tuts schon irgendwie. Test vom 14.11.2005, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 9,10,8,8,14,8 - 8,70

Pours dark ruby red with small violet-red head leaving some lacing. Strong aroma of black currants, malts, hops and bread with nutty tones. Sour fruity mouthfeel. Flavor is like black currant soda with malty and yeasty add-ons, nice sour touch, too. Acidy sour berry palate. Finishes shortlived with a sour and pleasant aftertaste.

Dark ruby beer with a purple head. Sourish and total black-currant aroma. The black-currant taste dominates the beer, the gueuze character is vanished. I felt only the sourish and tart flavor of the fruit.

Small but nice dark reddish head. Nice cassis aroma with some sparkle to it. Purple burgundy color with some chunks floating in it. Taste is tart, a little sweet. Body is about average. A pretty middle of the road lambic.

bottle 25cl Pours dark reddish with a light dark pink head. Aroma filled with berries (cassis) and malt. Taste is similar to the other St Louis beers, malty and berries with again this sour presence that just doesnt really do it for me. Drinkable, refreshing.

Tasted on 24 july ’08 @ Bierloods bar. Bottle, 25 cl. Deep purple-reddish color, with a pinkish purple creamy head. Aroma sweet, berries, malts, some sour. Medium body. Tatse refreshing on a hot summer day. Sweet, black currants, berries, little dry. Sweet aftertaste.

The beer pours from the 340ml bottle deep reddish purple with a modest pinkish purple creamy head, lace a thin veil. The aroma of the berries sweet mixed with a malt greets you first, then I liken it to sour mash, I think the moonshiners in the audience would understand my description, or if you ever worked on a farm with swine, the four legged kind! Lol Start is sweet at the front, with the tartness at the back, dry as they come, top is light to middling in feel. Finish as a ferine acidity, the black currants continue to the parched semi-sweet aftertaste, a decent Lambic, but I have had better.
