A red beer with a disappearing off-white head. The aroma is strong of black currant, and so is the flavor.

(Bottle 25 cl) Dark red with a reddish head. Seems sweet by the first moutful, but quickly you’re hit by a dry, quenching tartness that spreads to every corner of your mouth. Very strong black currant flavours - but nicely so. 270497

Bottle. Very sweet Ribena aroma. Very dark red/purple colour. The flavour is of blackcurrant with a citric edge. Not bad.

Deep red body topped by medium pink-tan head. Aroma is sweet, strong currant, with just a hint of sourness. Taste is what I imagine currant juice would taste like, with mild carbonation. It's good for what it is, but it seems much more like a juice than a beer.

Im Glas ist es dunkel, ein wenig an Rotwein erinnernd. Der Geruch ist säuerlich-chemisch. Der Johannisbeergeschmack dürfte wohl kaum überraschen, interessanter wird es im Nachgeschmack, denn genau da bestätigt sich der Geruch, säuerlich und auch leicht chemisch. Leicht bitter, das Einzige, was irgendwie auf Bier zurückschließen lässt. Schmecken tuts schon irgendwie. Test vom 14.11.2005, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 9,10,8,8,14,8 - 8,70

red-brown colour, few head, strong blackcurrant aroma, vinous, the sweetness is partially balanced by an interesting sourness - quite pleasant

Dense, cyclamen-red head, slightly irregular on deep garnet beer. Sweet expressly fruitnose, unmistakably blackcurrant, jam-like, but not artificial smelling (apart from a bit of gas-like aroma). Surprisingly tart, fruit-acid taste, blackcurrant & blueberry. No horseblanket, but background of lactobacillus-like esters and acids. Nice. Light to medium bodied, very refreshing; long tart aftertaste, dry-out effect. This IS a major surprise. It has nothing to do with lambic, but then neither has Bitter End Sour Prick. This one is really a good one to wean the young and unthoughtful from the breezers.

fat pink head looks great. sweet aroma but thankfully the sweetness doesn´t totally overwhelm the general lambicness of the thing. quite salty and sour with some rottenness

bottle 25cl Pours dark reddish with a light dark pink head. Aroma filled with berries (cassis) and malt. Taste is similar to the other St Louis beers, malty and berries with again this sour presence that just doesnt really do it for me. Drinkable, refreshing.

Head is initially average sized, frothy, purple, mostly lasting. Body is dark purple, moderate density of tiny particles. Aroma is lightly malty (light bread), lightly yeasty (mold), with notes of cassis and concord grape, hint of celery. Flavor is heavily sweet, heavily acidic. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, moderately astringent. Weird vegetal (celery/cilantro) aroma under the fruit at first, but it seems to virtually disappear as the head dies down. Good flavor balance makes it enjoyable though. Very sexy appearance.
