FROTHINGSLOSH (1961), GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 7, 2006 Sampled from a 12.7 oz green bottle this beer poured a bright red color with a medium sized pink head. The aroma was tart raspberry. The flavor is very tart and bitter raspberry with a light sweet middle and a tarty and tangy finish. Tasty. Kiapepito (111), Port Angeles, Washington, USA Sep 28, 2006 Thanks to Irishboy for the sample. i really really enjoyed this one. it was tart at the beginning for half a second, and then you tasted the full aroma of rasberries with a twist of sweetness, but not over doing it. loved it! IrishBoy (2685), Bakersfield, California, USA Sep 27, 2006 Bottle: Nose of a little sour horseblanket followed by the raspberries; Strawberry red with a small pink head; flavor was tart at the start, turning to sweet raspberries. harlequinn (2745), Tacoma, Washington, USA Aug 6, 2006 This was a little bit more in the range of a lambic than a fruit beer. Strong flavors of really fruit as opposed to being artifical and overly sweet. A bit tart at first with some heavy acidity, and a bit of sour, aroma defying fruit. Super easy to drink, and fulfilling on the palate. Decent. cab (861), Denmark Aug 4, 2006 This is not my kind of beer but i have rated it as a Framboise and if i do that, it is very nice.
Color red with a good pink head, and the fruit is strong. Ughsmash (3979), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA Jul 29, 2006 On tap at the Maproom. Poured a clear, deep sparking ruby with a solid layer of pinky/beige head. Nose was of raspberry Kool-Aid... very sweet with tart underlying lambic funk. Flavor was very similar... fruit punch, sweet raspberries, and faint musty tartness... the sweetness had an artificial tinge to it. Too sweet for my tastes... could’ve used more funk. MiP (8793), Sønderborg, Denmark Jul 23, 2006 Very sweet raspberry aroma. Deep red colour, small pink head. The flavour is quite sweet with a hint of acidity. OK frambozen, but with a hint of aspartam in aftertaste. Dubbercody (214), Vancouver, Washington, USA Jul 21, 2006 On draft at PIB.
It’s pretty to look at, awesome red pink hue. Smells like raspberries that have been left in sugar overnight to be placed on the tops of crepes.
Drinks like a sweet mixed drink, but a REALLY good one. Some might think it’s just a sweet lambic, but it does have more going for it than just a sweet outside. Plus it’s darn tasty on a hot summer day, but I think it would also go quite well on a cool winter night. (Possibly in front of a fire....)
